IRF8 Regulates Intrinsic Ferroptosis through Repressing p53 Expression to Maintain Tumor Cell Sensitivity to Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes

open access: yesCells, 2023
Ferroptosis has emerged as a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL)-induced tumor cell death pathway. The regulation of tumor cell sensitivity to ferroptosis is incompletely understood.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

High CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes indicate severe exhaustion and poor prognosis in angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
BackgroundExhaustion of CD8+ tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), characterized by the overexpression of immune checkpoints (IC), is a major impediment to anti-tumor immunity.

Berberine–cinnamic acid co‐crystal effect in ameliorating hyperlipidemia might be regulated through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR/SREBP‐1 signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Berberine–cinnamic acid co‐crystal (BBR‐CA) inhibits the phosphorylation of the phosphatidylinositol 3‐kinase (PI3K)/AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway, suppressing the transfer of pre‐sterol regulatory element‐binding proteins‐1 (SREBP‐1) from the endoplasmic reticulum to the nucleus. This results in a decrease in the expression level of

Achilles’ Heel of currently approved immune checkpoint inhibitors: immune related adverse events

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Immunotherapy has revolutionized the cancer treatment landscape by opening up novel avenues for intervention. As the use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has exponentially increased, so have immune-related adverse events (irAEs).

Strategies to Design and Optimize Artificial Antigen‐Presenting Cells for T Cell Expansion in Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

Identification and validation of telomerase related lncRNAs signature to predict prognosis and tumor immunotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Telomerase allows eukaryotic cells to proliferate indefinitely, an important characteristic of tumor cells. Telomerase-related long no coding RNAs (TERLs) are involved in prognosis and drug sensitivity prediction; however, their association with bladder ...
