A whole-cell biosensor for the detection of gold. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Geochemical exploration for gold (Au) is becoming increasingly important to the mining industry. Current processes for Au analyses require sampling materials to be taken from often remote localities.

Complexing Behaviour of 2H-1,2,4-Triazole-3-thiol Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Ru(II), Rh(III), Pd(II), Pt(II), and Au(I) [PDF]

open access: bronzeBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1978
Abstract Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Ru(II), Rh(III), Pd(II), Pt(II), and Au(I) with 2H-1,2,4-triazole3-thiol have been prepared. Probable structures have been proposed for the complexes on the basis of visible and infrared spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and chemical analysis.

AU(III) AND CU(II) CATALYST FOR OXIDATION OF AROMATIC AND CYCLIC HYDROCARBON BY CERIUM (IV) IN ACIDIC MEDIUM UNDER MICROWAVE IRRADIATION

open access: diamondGreen Chemistry & Technology Letters, 2016
The addition of traces of Au(III) chloride with Ce(IV) sulphate (catalyst: substrate ratio (1: 80 to 1: 300)) and in case of  Cu(II) sulphate with Ce(IV) sulphate(catalyst: substrate ratio (1: 60 to 1: 250)) in solution phase under microwave irradiation resulted in good to excellent yields of corresponding to phenol, quinone and carbonyl compounds.

Synthesis and Biological Study of New Cu(II) and Au(III) Com-Plexes of 2,4-Dithiouracil and Its Derivatives

open access: green
The goal of this study is to synthesize, determine the structure, and examine the antimicrobial properties of novel metal complexes of 2,4-dithiouracil and its derivatives. These complexes were obtained by mixing aqueous solutions of the corresponding metal salts with the ligand dissolved in DMSO and aqueous NaOH, using a metal-to-ligand ratio of 1:4:2.
