The cloning of normal “Mast” cells in tissue culture
Journal of Cellular and Comparative Physiology, 1965AbstractA method is described for the cloning of normal mouse “mast” cells in tissue culture in a soft agar medium. The colonies contain cells in different stages of differentiation. It was shown that a colony can be initiated by a single colony forming unit, and that colonies are formed as a result of cell multiplication.Cell suspensions from adult ...

Effect of alendronate on cultured normal human osteoblasts
Bone, 1998Alendronate is an aminobisphosphonate with a potent anti-reabsorptive action that does not appear to interfere with bone mineralization, and is even able to increase bone mineral density in osteoporotic postmenopausal women through a still not fully understood mechanism.

Growth of a medulloblastoma on normal leptomeningeal cells in culture
Neurosurgery, 1987Well-characterized medulloblastoma cells growing in suspension were placed on top of a confluent monolayer of leptomeningeal cells. In contrast to cells placed on plastic alone, which did not grow or attach, the medulloblastoma cells attached readily to the leptomeningeal cells and grew to form enlarging spheroids.

Establishment and Maintenance of Normal Human Keratinocyte Cultures
2003Keratinocytes are the major cellular component of the epidermis, which is the stratified squamous epithelia forming the outer-most layer of skin. The keratinocytes lie on a basement membrane and are organized into distinct cell layers which differ morphologically and biochemically These regions from the basement membrane outward are the basal, spinous,
