Cytotoxic Activities of Normal Cultured Human T Cells
The Journal of Immunology, 1978Abstract Normal human T cells grown in continued cultures in medium containing conditioned medium (CM) from PHA-stimulated lymphocytes were studied for their ability to manifest three known forms of cell-mediated cytotoxicity: lectin-induced cellular cytotoxicity (LICC), natural killer cell (NK) activity, and antibody-dependent cellular ...

Radiosensitivity of Normal Human Epidermal Cells in Culture
International Journal of Radiation Biology and Related Studies in Physics, Chemistry and Medicine, 1983Using an in vitro culture system we have derived radiation survival curves for the clonogenic cells of normal human epidermis. The culture system used allows the epidermal cells to stratify and form a multi-layered sheet of keratinizing cells. The cultures appear to be a very good model for epidermis in vivo. The survival curves show a population which

Tissue Culture of Normal Human Post-Pubertal Prostate
Urologia Internationalis, 1981Total prostatectomies were performed in 10 young male cadaver renal donors and explant cultures were prepared in Falcon flasks. Growth of a monolayer of predominantly epithelial cells occurred rapidly (latent time 3-5 days) and the flasks became confluent within 15-17 days. The monolayers grew well even when a needle was used to circumscribe and remove

Lysosomal enzyme variations in cultured normal skin fibroblasts
Life Sciences, 1972Abstract Lysosomal enzyme activities were studied in normal cultured fibroblasts derived from a single skin biopsy, grwon in quintuplet and treated in an identical way. A 60–500% variation in enzyme activities were noted. These observations compound the difficulties of accurate homozygote and heterozygote detection using cultured fibroblasts.

The Absent Swastika: ‘Normal’ Tourist Culture
2005The omnipresent swastika perfectly symbolized the voracious, intrusive nature of National Socialism. It was everywhere — on flags, banners, badges, uniforms, buildings, monuments, letterhead and stamps. For German tourists, however, the swastika, along with other key signs and signifiers of the Hitler dictatorship, was never so ubiquitous.

A Normal Asset With Cultural Differences
2005Abstract The extensive interest in disordered narcissism has usually overshadowed studies of narcissistic functioning within what can be considered the normal range. Less is known about the overall vicissitudes within and interactions between normal healthy and exceptional forms of narcissism and how they contrast or interweave in an ...

Establishment and Maintenance of Normal Human Keratinocyte Cultures
2003Keratinocytes are the major cellular component of the epidermis, which is the stratified squamous epithelia forming the outer-most layer of skin. The keratinocytes lie on a basement membrane and are organized into distinct cell layers which differ morphologically and biochemically These regions from the basement membrane outward are the basal, spinous,
