Estimating Lorenz Curves Using a Dirichlet Distribution. [PDF]
The Lorenz curve relates the cumulative proportion of income to the cumulative proportion of population. When a particular functional form of the Lorenz curve is specified it is typically estimated by linear or nonlinear least squares, estimation ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

A Skew Product Distribution with Applications
The Rayleigh and error function distributions arise in many problems of applied and physical sciences. In this paper, we derive a skew type product Rayleigh-Error Function distribution by taking the product of the probability density function of ...

The Bernstein-Von Mises Theorem in Semiparametric Competing Risks Models [PDF]
Semiparametric Bayesian models are nowadays a popular tool in survival analysis. An important area of research concerns the investigation of frequentist properties of these models.

Probabilistic Circuits for Cumulative Distribution Functions
A probabilistic circuit (PC) succinctly expresses a function that represents a multivariate probability distribution and, given sufficient structural properties of the circuit, supports efficient probabilistic inference. Typically a PC computes the probability mass (or density) function (PMF or PDF) of the distribution.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

This study deals with the cumulative charting technique based on a simple and a mixture of Rayleigh models. The respective charting schemes are referred as the SRCQC-chart and the MRCQC-chart. These are stimulated from existing statistical control charts

A Poisson process approximation for generalized K-5 confidence regions [PDF]
One-sided confidence regions for continuous cumulative distribution functions are constructed using empirical cumulative distribution functions and the generalized Kolmogorov-Smirnov distance.

A Representation for Multinomial Cumulative Distribution Functions
A re-expression of the usual representation of the multinomial distribution as the conditional distribution of independent Poisson random variables given fixed sum provides a convenient new way to compute multinomial cumulative distribution functions.
