Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Review of Accuracy Assessment Methods for Current Transformers: Errors, Uncertainties, and Dynamic Performance

open access: yesEnergies
Accurate electric current measurement is fundamental to the safe and efficient operation of modern power systems. Current transformers (CTs), which serve as a critical interface between high-voltage power networks and measuring or protection devices, are

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Error Analysis of Air-Core Coil Current Transformer Based on Stacking Model Fusion

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Air-core coil current transformer is a key piece of equipment in the digital substation development. However, it is more vulnerable to various faults when compared with the traditional electromagnetic current transformer.

Do Read Errors Matter for Genome Assembly?

open access: yes, 2016
While most current high-throughput DNA sequencing technologies generate short reads with low error rates, emerging sequencing technologies generate long reads with high error rates.

Systematic Errors in Current Quantum State Tomography Tools [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2015
Common tools for obtaining physical density matrices in experimental quantum state tomography are shown here to cause systematic errors. For example, using maximum likelihood or least squares optimization for state reconstruction, we observe a systematic underestimation of the fidelity and an overestimation of entanglement.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A novel active‐input cascode current mirror with high precision and low power dissipation

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2022
In this article, a novel active‐input cascode current mirror (CM) with high precision and low power consumption is proposed. First, the cascode input structure is employed upon the active‐input CM to reduce the requirement of high‐gain op‐amp.
