Measurement Error in the Current Population Survey: A Nonparametric Look

Journal of Labor Economics, 1998
"This article utilizes an exact match file between the 1978 March [U.S.] Current Population Survey and administrative records from the Social Security Administration to analyze errors in the reporting of annual income using nonparametric methodology....

Experimental study of current error of up to 50 hz current-measuring transformer

2017 International Conference on Industrial Engineering, Applications and Manufacturing (ICIEAM), 2017
When using a variable-frequency drive at low and extra-low frequencies, it is difficult to control the current value. Standard current transformers are often used. This paper analyzes the transformer performance at frequencies below the industrial one.

Analysis of inrush and fault currents measurement errors generated by the current transformer saturation

2014 49th International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC), 2014
During saturation, a clipping effect is observed on the secondary side, leading to a false reading of the RMS value of the primary current. The present paper shows some experimental date about the effect of current transformer saturation and validates a method for reevaluating sampled data related to inrush currents.

Systematic Errors in Alternating Current Hall Effect Measurements

Journal of Applied Physics, 1969
This article discusses in the form of a table the spurious signals which can arise in a Hall effect measuring apparatus using alternating current and either an ac or a dc magnetic field. It is pointed out which of these spurious signals can simulate a Hall effect.

Numerical errors of the real time dynamic correction for the current measurement

Computer Standards & Interfaces, 1999
Abstract The finite precision of arithmetic operations performed by a processor is the source of numerical errors. An algorithm of the dynamic error correction has been tested with respect to the numerical errors. A truncation operation of any bit number representation has been simulated.

Measurement Errors for Electromagnetic Current Meters

1989
The Nearshore Sediment Transport Study (NSTS) field experiments relied on Marsh-McBirney electromagnetic current meters to provide estimates of currents in the surf zone, for modeling of both hydrodynamics and sediment transport. These meters were chosen because of their history of successful use in previous surf zone studies, relying on their ...

Method for online measurement of optical current transformer onsite errors

Measurement Science and Technology, 2016
This paper describes a method for the online measurement of an optical current transformer (OCT) onsite errors comparing with a conventional electromagnetic current transformer (CT) as the reference transformer. The OCT under measurement is connected in series with the reference electromagnetic CT in the same line bay.

The errors associated with high resistances in alternating current measurements

Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1928
(1) Some of the properties of a resistance which is shielded at a known potential have been investigated. (2) The effect of adding a number of these units in series, to form a high voltage resistor, has been considered, and expressions for the phase angle at the low and high voltage ends of the resistor have been derived.

Transverse diffusion currents as an important source of error in magnetoresistance measurements

Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1978
The consequences of the magnetoconcentration effect on the longitudinal current in semiconductor slabs are investigated over a wide range of magnetic field B. It is shown that the current component resulting from the action of the Lorentz force on the transverse diffusion currents is comparable to the conduction component in Ge and especially InSb ...
