Near-Transducer Errors in Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler Measurements

World Environmental and Water Resource Congress 2006, 2006
Previous studies have shown that velocities measured near the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) transducers are biased low. The error was associated with two causes: acoustic ringing and the flow disturbance created by the submerged part of the ADCP in its vicinity.

Influence of current measurement errors on parallel-connected UPS inverters

2009 IEEE Intrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference, 2009
Redundancy is a common approach for ensuring reliability on applications using UPS inverters. However, overall system's reliability and efficiency is very dependent on the power measurement precision, which if not properly done can lead to system failure.

Prediction model of measurement errors in current transformers based on deep learning

Review of Scientific Instruments
The long-term monitoring stability of electronic current transformers is crucial for accurately obtaining the current signal of the power grid. However, it is difficult to accurately distinguish between the fluctuation of non-stationary random signals on the primary side of the power grid and the gradual error of the transformers themselves.

Reduction of current ripples due to current measurement errors in a Doubly Fed Induction Generator

2008 Twenty-Third Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2008
This paper is concerned with the current ripples which originate from the current measurement errors of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). In this paper, a new compensation algorithm of the current measurement errors is proposed. The main concept of the proposed algorithm is implemented by integrating 3-phase rotor currents in the stationary ...

Error assessment of HF radar-based ocean current measurements: An error model based on sub-period measurement variance

2011 IEEE/OES 10th Current, Waves and Turbulence Measurements (CWTM), 2011
Data from CODAR-type ocean current sensing radar systems are used here to evaluate the performance of an error indicator provided as part of the available radar data. Investigations are based on data from pairs of radar systems with over-water baselines. Approximately year-long time series are used.

An Empirical Examination of the Potential Measurement Error in Current Cost Data.

The Accounting Review, 1987
Abstract ABSTRACT: The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) is soliciting empirical evidence on the accuracy of price indexes for estimating the current cost of machinery and equipment in compliance with Statement #33. Recent studies indicated that measurement errors in current cost data appear to dominate the potential ...

Blind spots in current risk management practices: Measurement error

Journal of Risk Management in Financial Institutions, 2008
While significant progress has been made in the field of risk management over recent decades, much work remains. One area requiring further attention and rigour is ‘measurement error’. In contrast to the physical sciences, financial measures of risk, especially credit risk, are rarely reported with error bars. The implication of this deficiency is that
