Brillouin fiber optic current sensor
Optical Review, 1996A novel reciprocal Brillouin fiber optic current sensor has been developed and tested. The sensor shows a sensitivity of 126 Hz/A that is very close to the maximum sensitivity obtained by using fibers without linear birefringence. The limitations due to the Kerr effect and optical feedbacks in the system are also investigated.

New Current Sensor for Quiescent Current Testing
2019 SoutheastCon, 2019Because of increasing leakage current and decreasing defective current, reducing testing time while keeping the required accuracy is one of the main I DQQ testing challenges of the new CMOS technology. In this paper, we propose a new sensor design to increase the discriminability of defective quiescent consumption from non-defective consumption based ...

The primary problem in measurement of upper ocean currents is separation of the weak low frequency ‘signal’ from the energetic high frequency ‘noise’ of surface waves and the mooring motion they produce. Overcoming this problem requires either perfectly responsive, although possibly nonlinear, sensors or completely linear sensors, possibly with limited

Low voltage current mirrors for built-in current sensors
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002A current mirror with low input voltage requirements is presented. Its application to implement high performance current sensors for IDDQ testing is discussed. Experimental results show that the circuit can operate with an input voltage of 0.2 V. Simulations show feasibility of the circuit to operate as a high speed built-in current sensor with minimum

Challenges of built-in current sensor designs
Proceedings 1998 IEEE International Symposium on Defect and Fault Tolerance in VLSI Systems (Cat. No.98EX223), 2002Built-in current sensors (BICSs) are very useful for both off-line and on-line testing. However, the practical use of BICS remains illusive due to several major concerns. This paper addresses the trade-off in design considerations and with examples from the existing designs.

Developing a passive DC current sensor
2016 IEEE SENSORS, 2016This paper reports a novel method for passive DC current sensing without using a cord separator. In this method, a piezoelectric thin-film cantilever with a micro-magnet on its end is positioned near a power cord. The DC current in the power cord induces a magnetic field, which generates a magnetic force acting on the micro-magnet.

Current developments in optical biochemical sensors
Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 1991By combining modern fibre optics and opto-electronic instrumentation with chemical and biochemical reagent systems, it has become possible to fabricate optical biosensors. The current state of the art in this development is reviewed in this paper. Many developments describe selective and sensitive methods for sensing bioanalytes and it is likely that ...

A Low-Loss Built-In Current Sensor
Journal of Electronic Testing, 1999This paper presents a novel built-in current sensor that uses two additional power supply voltages besides the system power supply voltage, and that is constructed by using a current mirror circuit to pick up an abnormal IDDQ. It is activated only by an abnormal quiescent power supply current and minimizes the voltage drop at the terminal of the ...
