Resilience Against Traumatic Stress: Current Developments and Future Directions

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2018
Given the high prevalence of stress-related mental disorders, their impact on person, family, and society and the paucity of treatment options for most of these disorders, there is currently a pressing need for innovative approaches to deal with these ...

Linear responses of D0-branes via gauge/gravity correspondence

open access: yes, 2013
We study linear responses of D0-branes in the low frequency region by using gauge/gravity correspondence. The dynamics of the D0-branes is described by Matrix theory with finite temperature, which is dual to a near extremal D0-brane black hole solution ...

Catecholamine stress alters neutrophil trafficking and impairs wound healing by β2-adrenergic receptor-mediated upregulation of IL-6. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Stress-induced hormones can alter the inflammatory response to tissue injury; however, the precise mechanism by which epinephrine influences inflammatory response and wound healing is not well defined.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Comments on MHV Tree Amplitudes for Conformal Supergravitons from Topological B-Model

open access: yes, 2005
We use the twistor-string theory on the B-model of CP^{3|4} to compute the maximally helicity violating(MHV) tree amplitudes for conformal supergravitons.

Anti-oxidants in Parkinson's disease therapy: a critical point of view [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative neurological syndrome, which is characterized by the preferential death of dopaminergic (DAergic) neurons in the SubstantiaNigra.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Casimir stress in an inhomogeneous medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The Casimir effect in an inhomogeneous dielectric is investigated using Lifshitz's theory of electromagnetic vacuum energy. A permittivity function that depends continuously on one Cartesian coordinate is chosen, bounded on each side by homogeneous ...
