A Basic Inequality for the Tanaka-Webster Connection

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
For submanifolds tangent to the structure vector field in Sasakian space forms, we establish a Chen's basic inequality between the main intrinsic invariants of the submanifold (namely, its pseudosectional curvature and pseudosectional curvature on one ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

A cell model in the ventral visual pathway for the detection of circles of curvature constituting figures

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
The contour of an arbitrary figure can be represented as a group of circles of curvature in contact with it, with each curvature circle represented by its center OC and radius r.

The Sub-Riemannian Limit of Curvatures for Curves and Surfaces and a Gauss-Bonnet Theorem in the Group of Rigid Motions of Minkowski Plane with General Left-Invariant Metric

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2021
The group of rigid motions of the Minkowski plane with a general left-invariant metric is denoted by E1,1,gλ1,λ2, where λ1≥λ2>0. It provides a natural 2-parametric deformation family of the Riemannian homogeneous manifold Sol3=E1,1,g1,1 which is the ...

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Hearing exotic smooth structures

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
This paper explores the existence and properties of basic eigenvalues and eigenfunctions associated with the Riemannian Laplacian on closed, connected Riemannian manifolds featuring an effective isometric action by a compact Lie group.

Some invariant theorems on geometry of Einstein non-symmetric field theory

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1983
This paper generalizes Einstein's theorem. It is shown that under the transformation TΛ:Uikℓ→U¯ikℓ≡Uikℓ+δiℓΛk−δkℓΛi, curvature tensor Skℓmi(U), Ricci tensor Sik(U), and scalar curvature S(U) are all invariant, where Λ=Λjdxj is a closed 1 ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.
