In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Compact Optical Fiber Directional Curvature Sensor With Large Curvature Range Based on Michelson Interferometer

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
Curvature sensing is essential in robotics, aerospace, and structural health monitoring, where precise deformation measurements are critical. However, existing curvature sensing technologies—such as strain gauges, inertial measurement units, and ...

Curvature Characterization of Flex Sensors for Human Posture Recognition

open access: yesUniversal Journal of Biomedical Engineering, 2013
Resistive flex sensors have been increasingly used in different areas for their interesting property to change their resistance when bent. They can be employed in those systems where a joint rotation has to be measured, in particular biomedical systems, to measure human joint static and dynamic postures.

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

On area comparison and rigidity involving the scalar curvature [PDF]

open access: yes
In this thesis we study the effects of lower bounds for the curvature of a Riemannian manifold M on the geometry and topology of closed, minimal hypersurfaces.

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

The spinor representation of constant mean curvature one surfaces in the Hyperbolic space [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
We review and comment on some aspects of the spinor representation for constant mean curvature one surfaces in hyperbolic space developed by Bobenko-Pavlyukevich-Springborn in [1].
