A Simultaneous Measurement Sensor for Temperature and Curvature Based on Congruent Quasi-Helical Long-Period Fiber Grating

open access: yesSensors
This article presents a long-period fiber-grating sensor based on a congruent quasi-helical structure (CQH-LPFG) with the two-parameter measurement of both temperature and curvature.

Electronic Sensor Prototype to Detect and Measure Curvature Through Their Curvature Energy [PDF]

open access: yesScience Journal of Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing, 2015
Through of the concept of curvature energy, and the curvature theory on homogeneous spaces is designed and constructed an electronic sensor prototype to measure curvature in 2, and 3-dimensional spaces using the programming of shape operators in micro-controllers and the value of their energy integrals along the curves and geodesics in their principal ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Fiber semi-film SPR curvature sensor with the function of directional recognition

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2020
We propose and demonstrate a fiber surface plasmon resonance (SPR) curvature sensor with the function of directional recognition by coating a metal film on one side of the fiber.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Mean Curvature Flow with a Neumann Boundary Condition in Flat Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this thesis I study mean curvature flow in both Euclidean and Minkowski space with a Neumann boundary condition. In Minkowski space I show that for a convex timelike cone boundary condition, with compatible spacelike initial data, mean curvature flow

Durable copper nanowires for flexible curvature sensors

open access: yesChemical Engineering Journal Advances
Metal nanowire-based flexible conducting surfaces (FCS) are vital for next-generation flexible and wearable sensors. Copper nanowires (CuNWs) offer a low-cost alternative to the expensive silver nanowires for fabricating FCS, yet their poor stability remains a significant challenge.
