Bounded Distance Equivalence of Cut-and-Project Sets and Equidecomposability
Abstract We show that given a lattice $\Gamma \subset \mathbb{R}^{m} \times \mathbb{R}^{n}$, and projections $p_{1}$ and $p_{2}$ onto $\mathbb{R}^{m}$ and $\mathbb{R}^{n}$, respectively, cut-and-project sets obtained using Jordan measurable windows $W$ and $W^{\prime}$ in $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ of equal measure are bounded distance equivalent ...

A cut-and-project perspective for linearized Bregman iterations
The linearized Bregman iterations (LBreI) and its variants are powerful tools for finding sparse or low-rank solutions to underdetermined linear systems. In this study, we propose a cut-and-project perspective for the linearized Bregman method via a bilevel optimization formulation, along with a new unified algorithmic framework.

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

International architectural workshop Patching the City 2011 [PDF]
The city of Rijeka is cut off from the sea by a strip of abandoned industrial zones. With the revitalisation of the degraded industrial areas, the city has an opportunity to progress and regain contact with the sea.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Homogenization of quasiperiodic structures and two-scale cut-and-projection convergence
Quasiperiodic arrangements of the constitutive materials in composites result in effective properties with very unusual electromagnetic and elastic properties. The paper discusses the cut-and-projection method that is used to characterize effective properties of quasiperiodic materials.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox
