SNP GENOTYPING IN TETRAPLOID CUT ROSES

open access: yesActa Horticulturae, 2012
Genetic analysis in tetraploid rose is complex: inheritance of genes could be disomic, keeping the two original diploid genomes separate but it could also be tetrasomic, permitting the four homologous chromosomes to pair and recombine during meiosis, and including the possibility of double reduction.

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Ethanol content in cut roses at low oxygen atmosphere storage

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2002
Low oxygen atmosphere is beneficial for preservation of fresh cut roses. Flower tolerance to specific atmosphere yielding anaerobic products was determined.

Evaluation of Synthetic Zirconyl Complex as Potential Floral Preservative on Postharvest Quality of Cut Roses Rosa hybrida L. Cv. Grand prix [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Production, 2017
Floral preservative biocides in most cases consider toxic at the affective concentration to both plant and microbial proliferation. Therefore, in order to find nontoxic biocide, this experiment was conducted to evaluate a recent Synthetized Zirconyl ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Effects of Different Pressure Reduction Rates on the Qualities of Vacuum-cooled Cut Flowers

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2012
Cut roses were selected as the experimental materials and vacuum cooled at three different pressure reduction rates (3.11×104 Pa/min, 1.78×104 Pa/min, 0.62×104 Pa/min). During the vase experiments, the main quality indicators of cut flowers were examined,

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Chlorine Dioxide Treatments Extend the Vase Life of Exported Cut Roses

open access: yeskorean Journal of Horticultural Science&Technology, 2019
This study investigated the effect of applying chlorine dioxide (ClO2) on the vase life of exported cut roses. The roses (Rosa hybrida L. ‘Beast’) were treated in a holding solution (HS) treatment of tap water (TW, control), distilled water (DW), 2 ...
