Investigating dynamics of machine tool spindles under operational conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Chatter is one of the major problems in machining and can be avoided by stability diagrams which are generated using frequency response functions (FRF) at the tool tip.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Roughness evolution of previously milled samples along a polishing test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In the present work results about roughness evolution along a polishing operation with corundum disks of size Norton 400 are presented. Hardened steel and hardened stainless steel samples were previously subjected to ball-end milling or side milling with

Influence of cutting parameters and plasma cutting mode on cutting quality and process noise [PDF]

open access: yesManufacturing Technology, 2020
Plasma cutting is an ever-evolving method of industrial cutting of materials. Like all modern methods, it must meet the requirements for the quality of the cut, but also the hygiene and safety regulations set by European legislation. New ways are being sought to reduce process noise while improving the quality of the cutting surface.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Experimental investigation of cutting forces in high-feed milling of titanium alloy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Titanium super alloys are often used in the chemical and aerospace industries, especially because of financial savings. resulting primarily from cheaper operation of equipment. Machinability of titanium alloys is more difficult than that of other metals.
