Laser Cutting of Stainless Steel Thin Sheets with Pulsed Nd:Yag Laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The parameters of laser cutting mainly depend on material and from thickness. In case of a given material and thickness many settings can be chosen. In this article we examine the laser cutting of 0,4 mm thickness stainless steel sheets with pulsed Nd ...

Simulation of low rigidity part machining applied to thin-walled structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of this study is to evaluate the modelling of machining vibrations of thin-walled aluminium work- pieces at high productivity rate. The use of numerical simulation is generally aimed at giving optimal cutting conditions for the precision and the ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Analytical models for high performance milling. Part I: cutting forces, structural deformations and tolerance integrity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Milling is one of the most common manufacturing processes in industry. Despite recent advances in machining technology, productivity in milling is usually reduced due to the process limitations such as high cutting forces and stability.

Effects of Cutting Parameters on the Flank Wear of Cutting Tools with a Cutting Edge

open access: yesBulletin of the Polytechnic Institute of Iași. Machine constructions Section
Abstract During a machining operation, the main edge of the cutting tool performs most of the cutting, being susceptible to the following types of wear: corner wear, flank wear, and notch wear. The wear is one of the greatest interests because it is the most widely used criterion for determining cutting tool durability.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Analysis of the Effect of Machining Parameters on the Cutting Tool Deflection in Curved Surface Machining

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of machining parameters on the deflection of a cutting tool (i.e., end mill) in the milling of a surface with a curvilinear profile. Test samples were made of aluminium alloy EN AW-7075 T651. Experiments
