The Analytic Center Cutting Plane Method with Semidefinite Cuts

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Optimization, 2003
Summary: We analyze an analytic center cutting plane algorithm for convex feasibility problems with semidefinite cuts. The problem of interest seeks a feasible point in a bounded convex set, which contains a full-dimensional ball with radius \(\varepsilon

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A Cutting Method with Updating Approximating Sets and its Combination with Other Algorithms

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2014
For solving constrained minimization problem propose a cutting plane method which belongs to a class of cutting methods. The designed method uses an approximation of the epigraph of the objective function.

Experimental Parameters Influence the Observed Antimicrobial Response of Oak Wood (Quercus petraea)

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2020
The present investigation aimed to utilize a direct wood disc diffusion method to study the influence of plane of cutting, cutting method, sterilization method, and origin of tree on the antimicrobial activity of wood material.

A cutting plane algorithm for Modularity maximization with heuristics for separation problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The modularity proposed by Newman and Girvan is the most commonly used measure when the nodes of a graph are grouped into communities consisting of tightly connectednodes.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Studying mechanism of anisotropic crack generation on C-, R-, A-, and M-planes of sapphire during ultra-precision orthogonal cutting using a visualized slip/fracture activation model

open access: yesNanotechnology and Precision Engineering
With the growing demand for the fabrication of microminiaturized components, a comprehensive understanding of material removal behavior during ultra-precision cutting has become increasingly significant.

Efficient 3D data compression through parameterization of free-form surface patches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents a new method for 3D data compression based on parameterization of surface patches. The technique is applied to data that can be defined as single valued functions; this is the case for 3D patches obtained using standard 3D scanners ...

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.
