Higher vitamin B12 from mid‐ to late life is related to slower rates of cognitive decline

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Evidence is needed to evaluate whether low vitamin B12 from mid‐ to late life, either alone or in the presence of elevated folate, is associated with cognitive decline. METHODS Participants from the Framingham Heart Study without baseline dementia who had ≥ 2 measures of a three‐component vitamin B12 indicator (3cB12) and ...

Preliminary Characterization of Monofloral Helianthus annuus L. Bee Pollen Using Advanced Analytical Techniques: A Comparative Study With Polyfloral Pollen

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study characterized monofloral sunflower bee pollen using palynological, physicochemical, and metabolomic analyses. LC–MS/MS results revealed significantly higher hyperoside levels in the monofloral pollen. The data obtained support the potential of sunflower pollen in functional food formulations.

The Lrs14‐Like AbfR1 Homolog From Metallosphaera sedula Is a Nucleoid‐Organizing Protein

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 5, October 2025.
Nucleoid organization in Crenarchaeota involves diverse small DNA‐binding proteins. The Lrs14‐type protein AbfR1 from Metallosphaera sedula binds nonsequence specifically across the genome and induces DNA condensation. These findings suggest a structural role for AbfR1Ms in chromatin architecture, functionally resembling bacterial nucleoid‐associated ...
