Immobilization of lectin preparations from Moringa oleifera seeds in inert supports for water purification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Humic acids are linked to the formation of carcinogenic disinfection by-products upon chlorination of drinking water. In this work the first focus was tocharacterize the affinity of protein preparations obtained from Moringa oleifera seeds (extract, E,

Albumin Protein Cleavage Affects the Wear and Friction of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene

open access: yesLubricants, 2017
It is well established that the total protein concentration and albumin-to-globulin ratio influence the wear of ultra-high molecular polyethylene (UHMWPE, “polyethylene”) in joint prostheses.

Small, porous polyacrylate beads [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Uniformly-shaped, porous, round beads are prepared by the co-polymerization of an acrylic monomer and a cross-linking agent in the presence of 0.05 to 5% by weight of an aqueous soluble polymer such as polyethylene oxide.

Conformational Properties of Cyanogen Bromide-cleaved Glucagon

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1972
Abstract The circular dichroism of the cyanogen bromide peptide of glucagon, measured in dilute aqueous solution, in chloroethanol, and in urea is similar to that of glucagon. However, in more concentrated aqueous solutions the cyanogen bromide peptide does not rapidly aggregate to structures of higher helical content as does glucagon.

Rapid, efficient, and accurate determination of aflatoxins and capsaicinoids in vegetable oils by immunomagnetic sorbents coupled with UHPLC–MS/MS

open access: yesFood Frontiers
A fast, simple, and sensitive analytic method was proposed for the simultaneous quantification of aflatoxins (AFTs) and capsaicinoids in vegetable oils by immunomagnetic sorbent coupled with ultra‐performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem ...
