Isocyanogen formation in the cold interstellar medium [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 625, A91 (2019), 2019
Cyanogen (NCCN) is the simplest member of the dicyanopolyynes group, and has been proposed as a major source of the CN radical observed in cometary atmospheres. Although not detected through its rotational spectrum in the cold interstellar medium, this very stable species is supposed to be very abundant.

How to study basement membrane stiffness as a biophysical trigger in prostate cancer and other age-related pathologies or metabolic diseases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Here we describe a protocol that can be used to study the biophysical microenvironment related to increased thickness and stiffness of the basement membrane (BM) during age-related pathologies and metabolic disorders (e.g. cancer, diabetes, microvascular

Improving the Identification and Coverage of Plant Transmembrane Proteins in Medicago Using Bottom–Up Proteomics

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Plant transmembrane proteins (TMPs) are essential for normal cellular homeostasis, nutrient exchange, and responses to environmental cues. Commonly used bottom–up proteomic approaches fail to identify a broad coverage of peptide fragments derived from ...

Free and Immobilized Lecitase™ Ultra as the Biocatalyst in the Kinetic Resolution of (E)-4-Arylbut-3-en-2-yl Esters

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
The influence of buffer type, co-solvent type, and acyl chain length was investigated for the enantioselective hydrolysis of racemic 4-arylbut-3-en-2-yl esters using Lecitase™ Ultra (LU). Immobilized preparations of the Lecitase™ Ultra enzyme

Riboproteomics: A versatile approach for the identification of host protein interaction network in plant pathogenic noncoding RNAs. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Pathogenic or non-pathogenic small (17 to 30 nt) and long (>200 nt) non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) have been implicated in the regulation of gene expression at transcriptional, post-transcriptional and epigenetic level by interacting with host proteins ...

A New Monomeric Interpretation of Intrinsic Optical Bistability Observed in Yb3+ - Doped Bromide Materials [PDF]

open access: yesChem. Phys. Lett. 381, 163 (2003), 2003
We present a mechanism able to show intrinsic bistable behaviour involving single Yb3+ ions embedded into bromide lattices, in which intrinsic optical bistability (IOB) has been observed. The mechanism is based on the experimentally found coupling between the Yb3+ ion and the totally symmetric local mode of vibration of the [YbBr6]3- coordination unit.

Synthesis, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activity of novel azetidine-2-one derivatives of 1H-benzimidazole

open access: yesArabian Journal of Chemistry, 2014
A series of 1-methyl-N-[(substituted-phenylmethylidene)-1H-benzimidazol-2-amines (4a–4g) were prepared via the formation of 1-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-2-amine (3), which was prepared by the cycloaddition of o-phenylenediamine (1) with cyanogen bromide in ...

Design and Evaluation of a Cyanate Ester Containing Oxaspirocyclic Structure for Electronic Packaging

open access: yesAdvances in Polymer Technology, 2022
A type of pentaerythritol cinnamaldehyde bisphenol dicyanate ester (PCBDCy) containing oxaspirocyclic structure is well designed and synthesized in three steps from cinnamaldehyde, pentaerythritol, phenol, and cyanogen bromide.

UV photodissociation of methyl bromide and methyl bromide cation studied by velocity map imaging [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Physics 130 (2009) 034304, 2009
We employ the velocity map imaging technique to measure kinetic energy and angular distributions of state selected CH3 (v2=0,1,2,3) and Br (2P3/2,2P1/2) photofragments produced by methyl bromide photolysis at 215.9 nm. These results show unambiguously that the Br and Br* forming channels result in different vibrational excitation of the umbrella mode ...
