Australian Conference on Life Cycle Assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an internationally recognised approach for evaluating the environmental impacts of products and services. In this paper, the potential issues in the development of a consistent and comprehensive life cycle inventory (LCI ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Identification of cell cycle-targeting microRNAs through genome-wide screens

open access: yes, 2019
By performing nine genome-wide microRNA (miRNA) screens, we recently uncovered a new class of miRNAs, which target multiple cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs).

Minimum Cycle Base of Graphs Identified by Two Planar Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we study the minimum cycle base of the planar graphs obtained from two 2-connected planar graphs by identifying an edge (or a cycle) of one graph with the corresponding edge (or cycle) of another, related with map geometries, i.e ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Dominating number of distance two of corona products of graphs

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Combinatorics, 2016
Dominating set $S$ in graph $G=(V,E)$ is a subset of $V(G)$ such that every vertex of $G$ which is not element of $S$ are connected and have distance one to $S$.

Isolation of Cycles

open access: yesGraphs and Combinatorics, 2020
For any graph $G$, let $ι_{\rm c}(G)$ denote the size of a smallest set $D$ of vertices of $G$ such that the graph obtained from $G$ by deleting the closed neighbourhood of $D$ contains no cycle. We prove that if $G$ is a connected $n$-vertex graph that is not a triangle, then $ι_{\rm c}(G) \leq n/4$. We also show that the bound is sharp. Consequently,

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
