Liberators of NO exert a dual effect on renin secretion from isolated mouse renal juxtaglomerular cells [PDF]
This study aimed to examine the role of nitric oxide (NO) in the regulation of renin secretion from renal juxtaglomerular (JG) cells. Using primary cultures of mouse renal JG cells, we found that sodium nitroprusside (SNP) and 3-morpholino-sydnonimin ...

Low‐dose radiotherapy has been shown to direct nanoscale coordination polymers (NCPs) to tumors by promoting neutrophil recruitment. This immune‐mediated delivery strategy markedly enhances tumor targeting and the therapeutic efficacy of NCPs carrying combination chemotherapies or innate immune modulators, even under clinically relevant radiation ...

Phosphoproteins associated with cyclic nucleotide stimulation of ciliary motility in Paramecium [PDF]
Permeabilized, MgATP-reactivated cells of Paramecium (models) respond to cyclic AMP and cyclic GMP by increasing forward swimming speed. In association with the motile response, cyclic AMP and 8-bromo-cyclic GMP (8-Br-cyclic GMP) stimulated protein ...

Metabolism‐Regulating Nanomedicines for Cancer Therapy
This review highlights metabolism‐regulating nanomedicines designed to target glycolytic, lipid, amino acid, and nucleotide pathways in tumors. By incorporating metabolism‐regulating agents into versatile nanocarriers such as liposomes, micelles, dendrimers, and engineered bacteria, these platforms achieve targeted delivery, controlled release ...

Cyclic nucleotide specificity of the activator and catalytic sites of a cGMP-stimulated cGMP phosphodiesterase from Dictyostelium discoideum [PDF]
The cellular slime mold Dictyostelium discoideum has an intracellular phosphodiesterase which specifically hydrolyzes cGMP. The enzyme is activated by low cGMP concentrations, and is involved in the reduction of chemoattractant-mediated elevations of ...

Mechanisms of light in regulating the chick pineal clock. Abstract The circadian clock significantly impacts animal health and productivity, with light playing a crucial role in regulating circadian rhythms. However, the mechanisms behind light‐induced circadian transmission remain unclear, particularly in light‐sensitive avian species.
