Characterization of cyclic ADP-ribose and 2′-phospho-cyclic-ADP-ribose by 31P NMR spectroscopy
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 1997Abstract The 31 P NMR spectra of the Ca 2+ mobilizing nucleotides cyclic ADP-ribose and 2′-phosphocyclic ADP-ribose have been studied. Both nucleotides show doublets of doublets in the range −9.5 to −11 ppm for the pyrophosphate group. The P-cADPR exhibits a singlet in the 0 to +4 ppm range for the 2′-phospho group.

Chemistry of Cyclic ADP-Ribose and its Analogs
Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2004Cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR), a general mediator involved in Ca2+ signaling, has the characteristic 18-membered ring consisting of an adenine, two riboses and a pyrophosphate, in which the two primary hydroxyl groups of the riboses are linked by a pyrophosphate unit. This review focuses on the chemical synthetic studies of cADPR analogs.

Metabotropic glutamate receptor-mediated cyclic ADP ribose signalling
Biochemical Society Transactions, 2015Group I metabotropic glutamate receptors (I-mGluRs) modulate numerous cellular functions such as specific membrane currents and neurotransmitter release linked to their ability to mobilize calcium from intracellular calcium stores. As such, most I-mGluR research to date has focused on the coupling of these receptors to phospholipase C (PLC)-dependent ...

Cyclic ADP-Ribose Measurements in Rat Pancreatic Islets
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1997Cyclic ADP-ribose was measured by a radioimmunological procedure in rat pancreatic islets. The cyclic ADP-ribose content of the islets was much lower immediately after isolation (< or = 2.3 +/- 0.2 fmol/islet) than after a further incubation of 90 min in a salt-balanced medium (26.4 +/- 1.3 fmol/islet).

Abscisic Acid Signaling Through Cyclic ADP-Ribose in Plants
Science, 1997Abscisic acid (ABA) is the primary hormone that mediates plant responses to stresses such as cold, drought, and salinity. Single-cell microinjection experiments in tomato were used to identify possible intermediates involved in ABA signal transduction. Cyclic ADP–ribose (cADPR) was identified as a signaling molecule in the ABA response and

Cycling Assay for Determining Intracellular Cyclic ADP-Ribose Levels
Cold Spring Harbor Protocols, 2013Cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) is a Ca2+-mobilizing second messenger involved in the regulation of various physiological processes. The ability to detect changes in endogenous cADPR is a fundamental step in the identification of its role in signal transduction triggered by hormones and other stimuli.

New aspects of the physiological significance of NAD, poly ADP-ribose and cyclic ADP-ribose
Biochimie, 1995Cyclic ADP-ribose is generated from NAD+ in glucose-stimulated beta-cells by CD38. Cyclic ADP-ribose mobilizes Ca2+ from the endoplasmic reticulum to secrete insulin. The amino acid residues of Cys-119 and Cys-201 in CD38 are essential for the synthesis and hydrolysis of cyclic ADP-ribose.
