The Formation, Degradation, and Function of Cyclic Nucleotides in the Nervous System
1977Publisher Summary This chapter outlines the formation, degradation, and function of cyclic nucleotides in the nervous system. There is a description of the properties of adenylate cyclases, guanylate cyclases, phosphodiesterases, cyclic nucleotide-dependent kinases, and phosphatases as delineated with cell-free preparations and as studied in intact ...

Cyclic soil degradation/hardening models: A critique
2005The response of soils to applied loading is affected by the current state of stress and previous loading history. To account for this when evaluating their response to cyclic or dynamic loading, it is necessary to track the state of stress at each given time.

Enzymatic Formation, Degradation, and Action of Cyclic Nucleotides
1977The enzyme, adenylate cyclase catalyzes the conversion of ATP to cyclic AMP and pyrophosphate. The enzyme in most cells appears associated with plasma membrane, with its activity regulated by a receptor(s) exposed to extracellular space (cf. review by Perkins, 1973).
