從苗栗通宵鹽山取得的粗鹽結晶中純化出十八株能生長在4.0 M高鹽的菌株。由16S rDNA序列的分析,確認這十八菌株均為極端高鹽太古生物,其中呈紅色菌落的HLR1~6這六株菌均屬於Haloarcula屬,而十二株淺紅色菌落的HLO1~6及白色菌落的HLW1~6屬於Natrinema屬。這十二株Natrinema屬的菌株均為長桿狀細胞,皆具有觸酶及氧化酶的活性,可以利用色胺酸、檸檬酸和葡萄糖,但都不能分解澱粉、明膠、脂質及卵磷脂,和Natrinema屬的菌株之16S rDNA相似度在97~99 %之間 ...
