Photoreactions of benzonitrile with cyclic enol ethers

Tetrahedron, 1987
Abstract Upon irradiation, cyclic enol ethers such as 1-methoxy-cyclopentene (4) mainly add across the cyano group of benzonitrile (1), under formation of 2-azabutadienes of an imidoester type. This is in agreement with the so-called Δ G-correlation which was reported earlier (ref. 5 and 6).

Intercalation of Cyclic Ethers into Vanadyl Phosphate

Chemistry - A European Journal, 2002
Two cyclic ethers, tetrahydrofuran (THF) and tetrahydropyran (THP), were intercalated into vanadyl phosphate and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetry, and IR and Raman spectroscopy. Both compounds contain one molecule of ether per formula unit of VOPO(4) and show high thermal stability in comparison with VOPO(4) intercalates with

Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Cyclic (Aryl Ether Ketone)s, Cyclic (Aryl Ether Phthalazine)s, and Cyclic (Aryl Ether Isoquinoline)s

Macromolecules, 1995
The efficient preparation of a range of cyclic (aryl ether ketone)s containing the 1,2-dibenzoylbenzene moiety via the nucleophilic aromatic substitution route with the use of the pseudo-high dilution principle was developed. Chemical transformation of the 1,2-dibenzoylbenzene moiety of these cyclic (aryl ether ketone)s led to the preparation of novel ...

Polymerization of Cyclic Ethers

Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1972
Abstract In the present series of studies on the cationic polymerization of cyclic ethers, the reactivities of cyclic ethers were quantified and the effect of the catalyst upon the polymerization kinetics was revealed. These kinetic analyses were successfully performed by means of our “phenoxyl end-capping method”.

Reactions of Diorganyliodophosphine with Cyclic Ethers

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 1990
Abstract Reactions of phosphorus halides (chloro- and bromoderivatives) with α-alkylen oxides and other cyclic ethers are thoroughly investigated and have practical. significance. Phosphorus iodides, on the contrary, were rarely used in the reactions of this type. It is known only that PI3 and P2I4 are convenient olefinic agents.

Synthesis of cyclic precursors of poly(ether ether ketone)

Polymer Bulletin, 1999
A novel synthetic route to cyclic PEEK precursors is described. These new cyclic oligomers have been prepared from hydroquinone and N-phenyl(4,4'-difluorodiphenyl) ketimine. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) analysis unambiguously confirmed the cyclic nature.

Anionic copolymerization of cyclic ethers with cyclic anhydrides

1984
This article summarizes and analyzes the results obtained for the anionic copolymerization of cyclic ethers with cyclic anhydrides. This reaction is of great practical importance, especially as curing reaction of epoxy resins and is also used for the preparation of linear polyesters with special functional pendant groups.

Photopolymerization of unsaturated cyclic ethers

Polymer, 1998
Abstract 2,3-Dihydro-4H-pyran, DHP, and 2,3-dihydrofuran, DHF, are photopolymerized at ambient temperature with the aid of diphenyl iodonium hexafluorophosphate, Ph 2 I + PF 6 − or triphenyl sulfonium hexafluorophosphate, Ph 3 S + PF 6 − at λ inc = 310 or 340 nm, respectively.
