Arthrofactin, a bioactive cyclic lipopeptide from Pseudomonas sp. MIS38, was reinvestigated for its structural and stereochemical features due to discrepancies between the genetics-based sequence prediction and the currently suggested structure. The structure of arthrofactin and its derivatives was reassigned on the basis of chiral HPLC analysis and ...

WH1fungin a surfactin cyclic lipopeptide is a novel oral immunoadjuvant
Vaccine, 2013WH1fungin, a surfactin lipopeptide from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens WH1, can be used as an adjuvant for eliciting strong immune response by parenteral immunization. In this study, WH1fungin was firstly reported as an oral immunoadjuvant. In mice, WH1fungin markedly enhanced the immune response to co-administered protein antigens (OVA or GST), similar to

Production of Cyclic Lipopeptides by Fluorescent Pseudomonads
2004Members of the genus Pseudomonas produce a large amount of metabolites that are released into the extracellular environment. Among these metabolites are siderophores, phytohormones, biosurfactants and several antibiotic compounds, which may have broad-spectrum activity24, 81.

[Oxazolidinones, glycopeptides and cyclic lipopeptides].
Enfermedades infecciosas y microbiologia clinica, 2009A review of the chemical structure, pharmacokinetics, spectrum of activity, clinical use, and adverse effects of oxazolidinones (linezolid), glycopeptides, and cyclic lipopeptides (daptomycin) is presented. Oxazolidinones inhibit protein synthesis, and glycopeptides and cyclic lipopeptides act against the bacterial cell wall. The antibacterial spectrum

In this paper, 26 natural polymyxin components and a new derivative S2 were synthesized, and their differences in efficacy and toxicity have been investigated. Almost all of the synthesized components showed strong activity against both susceptible and resistant strains of E. coli, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, and A. baumannii.

[Progress on the studies of cyclic lipopeptides].
Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 2009Cyclic lipopeptide, also named as acylpeptide, which was characteristic with novel structures, was paid more attention in the recent years. Cyclic lipopeptide showed various bioactivities including antibacterial, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, etc. Cyclic lipopeptide originated mainly from the second metabolites of microorganism, such as Cyanobacterium,

Synthesis and antifungal activities of cyclic octa-lipopeptide burkholdine analogues
Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2013Synthesis and antifungal activity of cyclic octapeptide derivatives of burkholdines are described. To construct cyclic octapeptides, the combination of Fmoc-SPPS and cyclization with DIC/HOBt in the solution phase was employed. Synthesized peptides were evaluated for antifungal activity with MIC values against Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Aspergillus ...

A convenient solid-phase strategy for the synthesis of antimicrobial cyclic lipopeptides
Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2013A concise solid-phase synthesis of cyclic lipopeptides derived from the antimicrobial peptide c(Lys-Lys-Leu-Lys-Lys-Phe-Lys-Lys-Leu-Gln) (BPC194) was accomplished. Three different synthetic routes were explored. Best results were obtained using a protocol that includes as key steps: (i) synthesis of the cyclic peptidyl resin incorporating the Lys ...
