Bacterial Cyclic Lipopeptides as Triggers of Plant Immunity and Systemic Resistance Against Pathogens

open access: yesPlants
Cyclic lipopeptides (CLPs) are secondary metabolites produced by plant-beneficial bacteria, including Bacillus, Pseudomonas, Paenibacillus, Burkholderia, Serratia, and Streptomyces species.

Fusaristatins A and B, two new cyclic lipopeptides from an endophytic Fusarium sp.

open access: yes, 2007
Two new cyclic lipopeptides, fusaristatins A (1) and B (2) were isolated from rice cultures of a Fusarium sp. YG-45 in the course of a screening of endophytic fungi. Their structures of 1 and 2 were determined by spectroscopic methods.

Biosynthesis and regulation of cyclic lipopeptides in Pseudomonas fluorescens

open access: yes
Cyclic lipopeptides (CLPs) are surfactant and antibiotic metabolites produced by a variety of bacterial genera. For the genus Pseudomonas, many structurally different CLPs have been identified. CLPs play an important role in surface motility of Pseudomonas strains, but also in virulence and attachment/detachment to and from surfaces.

Identification of novel cyclic lipopeptides from a positional scanning combinatorial library with enhanced antibacterial and antibiofilm activities [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2016
Treating bacterial infections can be difficult due to innate or acquired resistance mechanisms, and the formation of biofilms. Cyclic lipopeptides derived from fusaricidin/LI-F natural products represent particularly attractive candidates for the ...

Iturin: cyclic lipopeptide with multifunction biological potential

Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, 2021
Iturin, a metabolite produced by Bacillus subtilis, has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, and because they are secreted in the rhizosphere of plants, iturins are often mixed with many organic molecules. In recent years, people have improved their separation and purification methods but still cannot achieve simple and effective procedures, making ...

Daptomycin: A novel cyclic lipopeptide antimicrobial

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 2005
The development, activity, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, clinical efficacy, adverse effects, and dosage and administration of daptomycin are reviewed.Daptomycin, a novel cyclic lipopeptide antimicrobial, is bactericidal against a range of gram-positive bacteria, including many multiple-drug-resistant isolates. It has only minimal activity against

The Cyclic Lipopeptide Antibiotics

2017
The cyclic lipopeptides comprise a number of clinically relevant classes of antibiotics that date back from the discovery of the polymyxins in 1947 to the recent introduction of the semi-synthetic lipoglycopeptides. These natural products and natural product derivatives most often originate from soil-inhabiting and/or plant-derived producing organisms.
