Cyclin-dependent kinase 1 as a potential target for lycorine against hepatocellular carcinoma

Biochemical Pharmacology, 2021
The pathological changes and possible underlying molecular mechanisms of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are currently unclear. Effective treatment of this pathological state remains a challenge. The purpose of this study is to obtain some key genes with diagnostic and prognostic meaning and to identify potential therapeutic agents for HCC treatment ...

Che-1 enhances cyclin-dependent kinase 5 expression and interacts with the active kinase-complex

NeuroReport, 2008
Che-1 is a nuclear protein involved in the regulation of gene transcription and cell proliferation. It has also been shown to localize to the cytoplasm of postmitotic neuronal cells, where it is able to interact with the microtubule-associated protein tau.

Regulation of G1 cyclin‐dependent kinases in liver regeneration

Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 1998
The liver serves as a suitable model for studying tissue regeneration. Although various growth factors have been implicated in the promotion of this process, their precise role in liver regeneration remains to be elucidated. Whatever the extracellular signals may be, they all converge on cell cycle regulators in the nucleus, where the sequential ...

Expression and Prognostic Role of Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 1 (cdc2) in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Oncology, 2000
The expression of cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (cdc2), cyclin A and cyclin B1 was immunohistochemically studied in 101 hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC). cdc2 overexpression was directly related to advanced stage, portal invasion, intrahepatic metastasis, poor differentiation, high α-fetoprotein level, large size, high Ki-67 labeling index and poor ...

Structural Bioinformatics Approach of Cyclin‐Dependent Kinases 1 and 3 Complexed with Inhibitors

Molecular Informatics, 2011
AbstractThe cyclin‐dependent kinases or CDKs participate in the regulation of both the cell progression cycle and the RNA polymerase‐II transcription cycle. In several human tumours deregulation of CDK‐related mechanisms have been detected, e.g., overexpression of cyclins or deletion of genes encoding for CKIs.

Cyclin-dependent kinase-like 5 binds and phosphorylates DNA methyltransferase 1

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2008
DNA methyltransferase 1 (Dnmt1) is an enzyme that recognizes and methylates hemimethylated CpG after DNA replication to maintain methylation patterns. Although the N-terminal region of Dnmt1 is known to interact with various proteins, such as methyl-CpG-binding protein 2 (MeCP2), the associations of protein kinases with this region have not been ...

Regulation of the interaction of Disabled‐1 with CIN85 by phosphorylation with Cyclin‐dependent kinase 5

Genes to Cells, 2007
Disabled‐1 (Dab1) is an adaptor protein mediating Reelin signaling in neuronal migration during brain development. Cyclin‐dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5)–p35 is a proline‐directed Ser/Thr kinase also involved in neuronal migration. The interaction between Dab1 and Cdk5 is in need of investigation. Dab1 was phosphorylated at Ser400 and Ser491 by Cdk5 in vivo.

ik3‐1/Cables is a substrate for cyclin‐dependent kinase 3 (cdk 3)

European Journal of Biochemistry, 2001
p70ik3‐1 (a 70‐kDa protein) contains a cyclin box, and binds to p35cdk3in vivo and in vitro[Matsuoka, M., Matsuura, Y., Semba, K. & Nishimoto, I. (2000) Biochem. Biophys. Res. Commun.273, 442–447]. In spite of its structural similarity to cyclins, p70ik3‐1 does not activate cyclin‐dependent kinase 3 (cdk3)‐mediated phosphorylation of pRb, histone ...
