The Antioxidant Enzyme Methionine Sulfoxide Reductase A (MsrA) Interacts with Jab1/CSN5 and Regulates Its Function

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2020
Methionine sulfoxide (MetO) is an oxidative posttranslational modification that primarily occurs under oxidative stress conditions, leading to alteration of protein structure and function.

The transcription factor Cux1 regulates dendritic morphology of cortical pyramidal neurons. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
In the murine cerebral cortex, mammalian homologues of the Cux family transcription factors, Cux1 and Cux2, have been identified as restricted molecular markers for the upper layer (II-IV) pyramidal neurons.

Connexin 37 sequestering of activated-ERK in the cytoplasm promotes p27-mediated endothelial cell cycle arrest

open access: yesLife Science Alliance, 2023
Elevated Cx37 expression in endothelium stabilizes nuclear Foxo3a by sequestering active ERK in the cytoplasm, thereby up-regulating p27 expression to promote late G1 state and enable arterial gene expression. Connexin37-mediated regulation of cell cycle

SETD1A Regulates Glycolysis and Senescence of Nucleus Pulposus Cells via H3K4me3–HELZ2/PPARα‐HIF1α Axis to Drive Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SETD1A is a key epigenetic regulator in NPCs during IDD. In normal NPCs, it sustains H3K4me3–HELZ2/PPARα–HIF1α signaling to maintain glycolytic energy metabolism and proliferation. In degenerated NPCs, reduced SETD1A disrupts this axis, impairing glycolysis and accelerating senescence, highlighting a promising therapeutic target for IDD.

The cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor p27 and its prognostic role in breast cancer.

open access: yesBreast cancer research : BCR, 2001
p27 is an inhibitor of cyclin dependent kinase involved in the regulation of the cell cycle. In this commentary we discuss the current knowledge on p27 in breast cancer and its significance in predicting the outcome. p27 protein levels are high in most cases of breast carcinomas, are correlated with the levels of cyclin D1 and estrogen receptor, and ...

Mutation and expression analysis of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor gene p27/Kip1 in pituitary tumors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Endocrinology, 1998
By regulating cyclin-cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) complex activity, individual CDK inhibitors (CDKIs) are potential tumor suppressors. One of the CDKIs, p27/Kip1, binds to a variety of CDK-cyclin complexes. A link between loss of p27/Kip1 function and development of pituitary tumors was suggested by the formation of pituitary tumors in almost all mice

Wound Healing Potential of Spirulina Protein on CCD-986sk Cells

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2019
Wound healing is a dynamic and complex process. The proliferation and migration of dermal fibroblasts are crucial for wound healing. Recent studies have indicated that the extracts from Spirulina platensis have a positive potential for wound healing ...

Tanshinone IIA inhibits hypoxia-induced pulmonary artery smooth muscle cell proliferation via Akt/Skp2/p27-associated pathway. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
We previously showed that tanshinone IIA ameliorated the hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension (HPH) partially by attenuating pulmonary artery remodeling.

High density lipoprotein promotes proliferation of adipose-derived stem cells via S1P1 receptor and Akt, ERK1/2 signal pathways [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction: Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC) are non-hematopoietic mesenchymal stem cells that have shown great promise in their ability to differentiate into multiple cell lineages.

Multidisciplinary Strategies for Targeting Tumor Dormancy in Breast Cancer Therapeutics: Hallmarks, Mechanism, and Approaches

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
Clinical phases and classification of breast tumor dormancy. Tumor dormancy is described as the period after treatment until residual tumor cells become detectable as relapsing disease in clinic. During the period of clinical tumor dormancy, tumor mass dormancy and cellular dormancy may coexist.
