Factors controlling cyclin B expression
2000Cyclins control the transition between the phases of the eukaryotic cell cycle as regulatory subunits of the cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs). Phase-specific activation of the CDK is in part regulated by phase-specific expression of their cyclin component. In most eukaryotic cells including higher plant, B-type cyclin genes are expressed specifically at

Cyclin D1 Inhibits Mitochondrial Activity in B Cells
Cancer Research, 2011Abstract Cyclin D1 is a cell cycle regulatory protein that acts at the G1-S transition, following its binding to and activation by the cyclin-dependent kinases 4 or 6. Cyclin D1 is absent from the entire B-cell lineage but is present in a large percentage of 2 types of malignant B-cell hemopathy—mantle cell lymphoma and multiple myeloma—

The yeast UbL-UBA protein Dsk2 is thought to act as a shuttle protein that delivers polyubiquitinated proteins to the proteasome. Previously, we identified Xenopus Dsk2-related protein, XDRP1, as a cyclin A-interacting protein. Using Xenopus egg extracts, we further characterized its two isoforms, XDRP1L and XDRP1S, with respect to cyclin binding and ...

Sequence of a cDNA encoding a mouse cyclin B protein
Gene, 1991We report here the nucleotide sequence of a cDNA encoding a mouse (Mus musculus) cyclin B protein. The deduced protein shows 84%, 66% and 49% similarity with human cyclin, Xenopus cyclin B1 and B2, respectively.

Identification of cyclin A/Cdk2 phosphorylation sites in B‐Myb
European Journal of Biochemistry, 1999B‐myb is a highly conserved member of the myb proto‐oncogene family that encodes a ubiquitously expressed 110‐kDa sequence‐specific DNA‐binding protein. Transactivation of Myb‐inducible promoters by B‐Myb is repressed by a regulatory domain located at the C‐terminus of the protein. Cyclin A/Cdk2‐mediated phosphorylation apparently releases the negative

Cyclin D1 regulates p27Kip1 stability in B cells
Cellular Signalling, 2011p27(Kip1) is a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor that plays a critical role in regulating G(1)/S transition, and whose activity is, in part, regulated through interactions with D-type cyclins. We have generated the BD1-9 cell line, a BaF3 pro-B cells derivative in which cyclin D1 can be induced rapidly and reversibly by ponasterone A.

The comparative analysis of a large number of plant cyclins of the A/B family has recently revealed that plants possess two distinct B-type groups and three distinct A-type groups of cyclins. Despite earlier uncertainties, this large-scale comparative analysis has allowed an unequivocal definition of plant cyclins into either A or B classes. We present
