Overexpression of cyclin D2 in chronic B-cell malignancies [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 1995
Tumor progression in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) is thought to result from the gradual accumulation of small resting G0/G1 phase lymphoid cells rather than the proliferation of actively dividing cells. The recent identification of G1 cyclins that are likely to control both the progression through G0 and G1 phase and the G1/S transition ...

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Cyclin B–Cdk1 activates its own pump to get into the nucleus

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 2010
The transition to mitosis requires extensive nuclear and cytoplasmic rearrangements that must be spatially and temporally coordinated. In this issue, Gavet and Pines (2010a. J. Cell Biol.

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

Targeted protein degradation in oncology: novel therapeutic opportunity for solid tumours?

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Current anticancer therapies are limited by the occurrence of resistance and undruggability of most proteins. Targeted protein degraders are novel, promising agents that trigger the selective degradation of previously undruggable proteins through the recruitment of the ubiquitin–proteasome machinery. Their mechanism of action raises exciting challenges,

Differential expression of decorin, EGFR and cyclin D1 during mammary gland carcinogenesis in TA2 mice with spontaneous breast cancer

open access: yesJournal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, 2010
Background The Tientsin Albino 2 (TA2) mouse is an inbred strain originating from the Kunming strain. It has a high incidence of spontaneous breast cancer without the need for external inducers or carcinogens.

Aberrant expression of nuclear prothymosin α contributes to epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

Cyclin C promotes development and progression of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia by counteracting p53-mediated stress responses

open access: yesHaematologica
Despite major therapeutic advances in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), resistances and long-term toxicities still pose significant challenges.

Alterations in TP53, cyclin D2, c-Myc, p21WAF1/CIP1 and p27KIP1 expression associated with progression in B-CLL.

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2011
B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (B-CLL) originates from B lymphocytes that may differ in the activation level, maturation state or cellular subgroups in peripheral blood.

Cyclin B knows its place

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 2003
![Graphic][1] Though normally cytoplasmic (left), cyclin B (red) targeted to the nucleus (right) can start S phase. Hunt/AAASIn mammalian cells the work of the cell cycle is divided between two workhorses: Cdk2/cyclin E for S phase and Cdk1/cyclin B for mitosis. Now, Jonathan Moore,
