4-[(4-Methylbenzenesulfonamido)methyl]cyclohexanecarboxylic acid [PDF]
The title compound, C(15)H(21)NO(4)S, crystallized with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit in which the dihedral angles between the mean planes of the benzene and cyclohexane rings are 78.3 (2) and 67.6 (2)°. The substituents of the cyclohexyl rings are in equatorial orientations.

Cyclohexanecarboxylic acid degradation with simultaneous nitrate removal by Marinobacter sp. SJ18
Abstract Naphthenic acid (NA), a new kind of toxic pollutants, is labeled as the potential threat to human health. However, the transformations of NAs in marine environments are still unclear. In this study, the characteristics and pathways of cyclohexylcarboxylic acid (CHCA) biodegradation were explored in the presence of nitrate.

Second-generation sulfonamide inhibitors of D-glutamic acid-adding enzyme: activity optimisation with conformationally rigid analogues of D-glutamic acid. [PDF]
peer reviewedD-Glutamic acid-adding enzyme (MurD) catalyses the essential addition of d-glutamic acid to the cytoplasmic peptidoglycan precursor UDP-N-acetylmuramoyl-l-alanine, and as such it represents an important antibacterial drug-discovery target ...

This study explores the mechanistic investigation into an unusual reactivity of a thioether‐ligated low‐spin Fe(III)‐alkylperoxide with cyclohexane–carboxaldehyde as a mimic of nonheme iron(II) enzyme intermediates and highlights that only efficient catalysis happens from a high‐valent iron(IV)‐oxo species.
