Origin of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid in Bacillus acidocaldarius

Phytochemistry, 1974
Abstract In Bacillus acidocaldarius , shikimic acid is converted into the cyclohexancearboxylic acid precursor of fatty acids by way of cyclohexene-l-carboxylic acid, but not by way of cyclohexene-3- or -4-carboxylic acid or benzoic acid.

Mixed anhydrides of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid with sulphonic acids

Journal of the Chemical Society Perkin Transactions 1, 1974
A new high-yield synthesis of mixed anhydrides of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid with sulphonic acids is described. The intramolecular thermal decomposition of these anhydrides when treated with solutions of nitrosylsulphuric acid in sulphuric acid may be assumed to proceed via pentamethyleneketen which has been recently postulated to be an intermediate in

Conformation and reactivity. Part VI. Kinetics of the acid-catalysed esterification in methanol of the trans-decalincarboxylic acids, of the 4-t-butyl- or 2-methyl-cyclohexanecarboxylic acids, of certain trans-4-substituted cyclohexanecarboxylic acids, and of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid

Journal of the Chemical Society B, Physical Organic, 1967
The rates of acid-catalysed esterification in methanol at 30° of the trans-decalincarboxylic acids, of cis- and trans-4-t-butylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid, of cis- and trans-2-methylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid, of trans-4-X-cyclohexanecarboxylic acids (X = OH, CO2Et, CO2Me, Br, or CN), and of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid have been measured.

Biosynthesis of phoslactomycins: cyclohexanecarboxylic acid as the starter unit

Tetrahedron, 2003
Abstract Phoslactomycins (PLMs) A–F, produced by actinomycetes are polyketide-type antibiotics derived from a hydroxycyclohexanecarboxylic acid or a cyclohexanecarboxylic acid starter unit. Feeding experiments with [2-13C]shikimic acid indicated that the C-18 carbon of PLMs comes from C-5 of shikimate.

Use of caproic and cyclohexanecarboxylic acids for determining benzoic and sorbic acids

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal, 2013
The possibility of using caproic and cyclohexanecarboxylic acids for determining sorbic and benzoic acids, respectively, was studied. The presence of double bonds in sorbic and benzoic acids decreased significantly their retention times compared with those of their saturated analogs (caproic and cyclohexanecarboxylic acids) on chromatography columns ...

Oxidative decarboxylation of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid

Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1963
AbstractCyclohexanecarboxylic acid is converted to a mixture of cyclohexanone and cyclohexene by reacting it at temperatures around 200° with an oxygen‐containing gas and steam in the presence of metal‐salt catalysts.
