The mononuclear copper complexes [Cu{NH=C(OR)NC(OR)=NH}2] with alkoxy-1,3,5-triazapentadiene ligands that have different substituents (R = Me (1), Et (2), nPr (3), iPr (4), CH2CH2OCH3 (5)) were prepared, characterized (including the single crystal X-ray ...

Quantum Nuclei at Weakly Bonded Interfaces: The Case of Cyclohexane on Rh(111) [PDF]
The electronic properties of interfaces can depend on their isotopic constitution. One known case is that of cyclohexane physisorbed on Rh(111), in which isotope effects have been measured on the work function change and desorption energies. These effects can only be captured by calculations including nuclear quantum effects (NQE).

Local structure correlations in plastic cyclohexane - a Reverse Monte Carlo study [PDF]
Two solid phases of cyclohexane have been investigated over a temperature range spanning 13 to 266 K on a powdered, perdeuterated sample using neutron total scattering. Phase II has an ordered structure (C2/c) that forms below 186 K. Between 186 and 280 K it exists as a plastic solid - phase I (Fm3m), where the molecules are rotationally disordered ...

Supramolecular Chemistry in Metal–Organic Framework Materials
This review highlights synergies between reticular chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. The role of supramolecular interactions in determining framework…guest interactions and attempts to understand dynamic behavior in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), particularly emphasizing the development of crystal sponges, studying reactions in frameworks and ...

Structure of asphaltenes occurring in oils of different chemical nature
The relevance of the work is caused by the need to obtain and generalize information on composition and structure of asphaltene components in oils of different chemical nature, since the features of structural characteristics of asphaltenes have a ...

This review explores how in situ and operando spectroscopic techniques reveal the real‐time behavior of reticular materials, including MOFs and COFs. These methods track material formation and functionalization, structural changes, defect formation, dynamic responses to external triggers, and catalytic processes.

The presence of strong stereoelectronic interactions involving the substituents in cis-2-substituted cyclohexanes may lead to results different from those expected. In this work, we studied the conformational behavior of cis-2-fluoro- (F), cis-2-chloro- (

Universal effects of solvent species on the stabilized structure of a protein [PDF]
We investigate the effects of solvent specificities on the stability of the native structure (NS) of a protein on the basis of our free-energy function (FEF). We use CPB-bromodomain (CBP-BD) and apoplastocyanin (apoPC) as representatives of the protein universe and water, methanol, ethanol, and cyclohexane as solvents.

Upconversion nanoparticle‐covalent organic framework core–shell particles provide enhanced contrast for optoacoustic imaging by leveraging the optical absorption of upconversion luminescence within the covalent organic framework matrix. Beyond their role as contrast agents, these particles enable customizable therapeutic agent loading and release, as ...
