Characterizing the folding core of the cyclophilin A - cyclosporin A complex I: hydrogen exchange data and rigidity analysis [PDF]

open access: yesBiophys J. 108, 1739-1746 (2015), 2014
The determination of a 'folding core' can help to provide insight into the structure, flexibility, mobility and dynamics, and hence, ultimately, function of a protein - a central concern of structural biology. Changes in the folding core upon ligand binding are of particular interest because they may be relevant to drug-induced functional changes ...

Cyclosporine

open access: yesTURKDERM, 2022
Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressive agent used in the treatment of psoriasis. It shows its action through calcineurin inhibition and T-lymphocytes. With its rapid effect, it can be used as an induction therapy in plaque, pustular and erythrodermic psoriasis. Its most common side effects are elevated serum creatinin values and arterial hypertension. In

Cyclosporine: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Transplantation, 2012
The discovery and use of cyclosporine since its inception into clinical use in the late 1970s has played a major role in the advancement of transplant medicine. While it has improved rates of acute rejection and early graft survival, data on long-term survival of renal allografts is less convincing.

Epidemiological survey of patients with pustular psoriasis in the Japanese Society for Psoriasis Research from 2017 to 2020

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatology, Volume 50, Issue 1, Page 3-11, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The Japanese Society for Psoriasis Research (JSPR) has been conducting annual epidemiological surveys of patients with pustular psoriasis in Japan since 2017. This study aimed to conduct a recent epidemiological analysis of patients with pustular psoriasis who were enrolled in the JSPR from 2017 to 2020.

Cross-reactivities of cyclosporin G (NVa2 cyclosporin) and metabolites in cyclosporin A immunoassays [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1993
Abstract Immunoassays of cyclosporin A (CsA) have been routinely used to measure CsG. We investigated the cross-reactivities of CsG and its metabolites, as well as the proportion CsG constitutes in relation to total drug measured, for six CsG metabolites (GM1, GM9, GM4N, GM1c, GM1c9, GM19) in the following CsA assays: Sandimmune ...

Integration of Omics Data and Systems Biology Modeling: Effect of Cyclosporine A on the Nrf2 Pathway in Human Renal Kidneys Cells [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Systems Biology, 2014, 8:76, 2013
In a recent paper, Wilmes et al. demonstrated a qualitative integration of omics data streams to gain a mechanistic understanding of cyclosporine A toxicity. One of their major conclusions was that cyclosporine A strongly activates the nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 pathway (Nrf2) in renal proximal tubular epithelial cells exposed in vitro.
