Diagnosis Value of the Detection of CYFRA21-1 in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2010
Background and objective Cytokeratin-19 fragment (CYFRA21-1) is a soluble protein in serum, and may be a useful circulating tumor marker. The aim of this study is to investigate the diagnostic value of the peripheral blood CYFRA21-1 in non-small cell ...

Clinical relevance of circulating biomarkers in breast cancer metastasis detection: "insights from liquid biopsy technology" [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Background and purpose: Breast cancer is a major global concern, especially because of high mortality linked to advanced stages. Metastasis may occur early, but current diagnostics struggle to detect small metastatic cells.

Usefulness of Circulating CYFRA21-1 in Patients as a Biomarker in Patients Taking Sorafenib or Lenvatinib for Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesReports, 2021
Background: This study investigated the impact of serum cytokeratin 19 fragment (CYFRA21-1) level on the clinical outcomes of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with sorafenib (SOR) or lenvatinib (LEN).

Increases in Serum CYFRA21-1 Concentration during Successful Treatment with Crizotinib [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Case Reports, 2014
Increases in tumor marker concentrations usually suggest disease progression. We here describe on 3 patients with non-small cell lung cancer whose serum concentrations of CYFRA21-1 increased in spite of successful treatment with crizotinib. Discontinuation of crizotinib resulted in a rapid decrease in serum CYFRA21-1 concentrations in all cases.

Diagnostic Accuracy of CYFRA21-1 in the Differential Diagnosis of Pleural Effusions [PDF]

open access: yesAnticancer Research, 2019
Approximately 20% of pleural effusions are associated with cancer; about 50% require invasive procedures to perform diagnosis. Determination of the concentration of soluble cytokeratin 19-fragments (CYFRA21-1) may help identify patients with malignant effusions. However, pathologies other than cancer can increase its concentration.

Diagnostic utility of LDH, CA125 and CYFRA21-1 in tuberculosis pleural effusion

open access: yesMedicina Clínica, 2022
The aim of this study was to assess the diagnostic value of several markers for tuberculosis pleural effusion (TPE) using the combined analysis of Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125), Cytokeratin-19 fragment (CYFRA21-1).From January to December in 2018, a total of 37 patients with pleural effusion (22 cases of transudative ...

Combining Multiple Serum Biomarkers in Tumor Diagnosis: A Clinical Assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The present study aimed to assess the diagnostic/ prognostic value of various clinical tumor markers, including carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), cytokeratin 19 (CYFRA21-1), α-fetoprotein (AFP), carbohydrate antigen-125 (CA ...

Novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in biliary tract cancer. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The worldwide incidence of biliary tract carcinoma (BTC, tumours of the bile ducts and gall-bladder) continues to rise, with the only potentially curative treatment remaining surgical resection or transplantation, possible in only a minority of patients.

Evaluation of serum CEA, CYFRA21-1 and CA125 for the early detection of colorectal cancer using longitudinal preclinical samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Blood-borne biomarkers for early detection of colorectal cancer (CRC) could markedly increase screening uptake. The aim of this study was to evaluate serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), CYFRA21-1 and CA125 for the early detection of CRC in an ...

CEA, CYFRA 21-1, NSE, and ProGRP in the diagnosis of lung cancer: a multivariate approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We retrospectively studied the single and combined diagnostic value of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin fragment 19 (CYFRA 21-1), neuron specific enolase (NSE) and pro-gastrin-releasing peptide (ProGRP), which were routinely analysed in ...
