Diagnostic Significance of Combining Telomerase Activity with CYFRA21-1 Level in Differentiating Malignant Pleural Effusion Caused by Lung Cancer from Benign Pleural Effusio

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2010
Background and objective Telomerase and CYFRA21-1 may be positively expressed in malignant pleural effusion, but the sensitivity and specificity of single tumor marker were low.

Distinction of ALK fusion gene‐ and EGFR mutation‐positive lung cancer with tumor markers [PDF]

open access: yesThoracic Cancer
Background It is difficult to predict gene mutations individually based on clinical background alone. Tumor markers may help to predict each gene mutation.

Highly sensitive detection of CYFRA21-1 with a SERS sensing platform based on the MBs enrichment strategy and antibody-DNA-mediated CHA amplification. [PDF]

open access: yesFront Bioeng Biotechnol, 2023
Laryngeal carcinoma (LC) is the second most common malignant tumor of the head and neck. Due to its insidious nature, most patients have developed to the middle and late stages by the time they are diagnosed, missing the best treatment period.

Identification of EGFR mutation status in male patients with non-small-cell lung cancer: role of 18F-FDG PET/CT and serum tumor markers CYFRA21-1 and SCC-Ag. [PDF]

open access: yesEJNMMI Res, 2023
Background The high incidence of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations is usually found in female patients with lung adenocarcinoma who have never-smoked. However, reports concerning male patients are scarce. Thus, this study aimed to explore

Diagnostic Accuracy of CYFRA21-1 in the Differential Diagnosis of Pleural Effusions [PDF]

open access: yesAnticancer Research, 2019
Approximately 20% of pleural effusions are associated with cancer; about 50% require invasive procedures to perform diagnosis. Determination of the concentration of soluble cytokeratin 19-fragments (CYFRA21-1) may help identify patients with malignant effusions. However, pathologies other than cancer can increase its concentration.

Diagnostic utility of LDH, CA125 and CYFRA21-1 in tuberculosis pleural effusion

open access: yesMedicina Clínica, 2022
The aim of this study was to assess the diagnostic value of several markers for tuberculosis pleural effusion (TPE) using the combined analysis of Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125), Cytokeratin-19 fragment (CYFRA21-1).From January to December in 2018, a total of 37 patients with pleural effusion (22 cases of transudative ...

Increases in Serum CYFRA21-1 Concentration during Successful Treatment with Crizotinib [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Case Reports, 2014
Increases in tumor marker concentrations usually suggest disease progression. We here describe on 3 patients with non-small cell lung cancer whose serum concentrations of CYFRA21-1 increased in spite of successful treatment with crizotinib. Discontinuation of crizotinib resulted in a rapid decrease in serum CYFRA21-1 concentrations in all cases.

Test and Significance of CEA, NSE, CA125, CYFRA21-1 in Lung Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017

Antigen-Down PEC Immunosensor for CYFRA21‑1 Detection Based on Photocurrent Polarity Switching Strategy

open access: yes, 2022
In this work, an antigen-down photoelectrochemical (PEC) immunosensor based on a signal polarity switching strategy for the detection of cytokeratin 19 fragment 21-1 (CYFRA21-1) was proposed.

Serum cyfra21-1 as a biomarker in patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics, 2014
The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical value of serum cytokeratin-19-fragment (cyfra21-1) as a biomarker in nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Sixty-six patients with NSCLC and 48 cases with benign lung disease were retrospectively analyzed in the department of thoracic surgery in our hospital.
