Evaluation of serum CEA, CYFRA21-1 and CA125 for the early detection of colorectal cancer using longitudinal preclinical samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Blood-borne biomarkers for early detection of colorectal cancer (CRC) could markedly increase screening uptake. The aim of this study was to evaluate serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), CYFRA21-1 and CA125 for the early detection of CRC in an ...

Acute Intestinal Obstruction Caused by Dual‐Component Metastasis From Combined Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Rare Case and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This case report describes a 75‐year‐old male patient who was admitted due to acute intestinal obstruction. The patient had a history of small cell lung cancer. Emergency surgery pathology confirmed the presence of primary composite small cell lung cancer with rare independent dual component metastasis: The colonic lesion was metastatic poorly

DataSheet1_Highly sensitive detection of CYFRA21-1 with a SERS sensing platform based on the MBs enrichment strategy and antibody-DNA-mediated CHA amplification.docx

open access: yes, 2023
Laryngeal carcinoma (LC) is the second most common malignant tumor of the head and neck. Due to its insidious nature, most patients have developed to the middle and late stages by the time they are diagnosed, missing the best treatment period.

Clinical Significance of Serum Cytokeratin 19 Fragment in the Prediction of Chemotherapy Efficacy and Prognosis in Patients with Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2010
Background and objective RECIST (Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors) criteria could not be used to detect viable tumor tissue and is not an accurate tool for evaluation of objective response (OR) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients ...

An Extracellular Vesicle Protein‐Based Machine Learning Framework for Early Detection of Oesophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Multicentre, Prospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Early detection of oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is critical for improving survival, yet current screening is hampered by the lack of effective, non‐invasive methods. Here, we developed and prospectively validated an extracellular vesicle (EV) protein‐based blood test for the preclinical detection of ESCC.

Clinical Significance of Serum Assay of CYFRA21-1 in Primary Lung Cancer.

open access: yesHaigan, 1995

Early Cancer Detection: What's Going on and What's Next

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Multicancer early detection (MCED) platforms have emerged as a promising strategy for the safe and effective early detection of multiple cancer types, with the potential to reduce metastatic burden and improve clinical outcomes, particularly for aggressive malignancies that lack effective population‐level screening.

Review of Existing Approaches and Potential Role of Pharmacometrics in the Interpretation of Prognostic Circulating Serum Biomarkers in Advanced NSCLC

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Circulating serum biomarkers have prognostic value in patients with advanced NSCLC, yet their potential still remains underappreciated at present. This review discusses classical approaches of biomarker data analysis, highlighting gaps, and summarizing current methodologies to evaluate the relationship between serum biomarkers and clinical ...

The important role of circulating CYFRA21-1 in metastasis diagnosis and prognostic value compared with carcinoembryonic antigen and neuron-specific enolase in lung cancer patients

open access: yes, 2017
Background The roles of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin 19 fragments (CYFRA21-1) and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) in metastases occurrence and poor diagnosis in specific histological classifications of lung cancer need ...
