Serum CYFRA21-1 as an effective tumor biomarker for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma
We investigated if the serum cytokeratin 19 fragment 21.1 (CYFRA21-1) level was elevated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and can function as a biomarker for detection and monitoring of NPC. Three hundred and one study subjects were divided into two groups: the NPC group (n=126) and healthy control group (n=175).

CYFRA21-1 levels could be a biomarker for bladder cancer: a meta-analysis
The proteolytic region of cytokeratin-19, referred to as CYFRA21-1, is a soluble molecule present in the serum and other body fluids, and is considered a tumor marker in several neoplastic diseases. To examine whether urinary or serum samples containing CYFRA21-1 can be used as biomarkers for bladder cancer, we conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis ...

Mechanisms of the release of CYFRA21-1 in human lung cancer cell lines
The CYFRA 21-1 assay which detects cytokeratin 19 (CK19) fragment is widely used as a tumor marker for lung cancer. However, the reason why some lung cancer cell lines release CK19 fragment in culture supernatants and others do not, remains unclear. It was hypothesized that the release of CK19 fragment may be elucidated by the expression of mRNA for ...
