Emergence and persistence of Cyvirus cyprinidallo 2 (CyHV-2) in Prussian carp in Serbian lakes
Between 2018 and 2021, significant die-offs of Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio) occurred in five lakes in eastern, central and northern Serbia. In all cases, Cyvirus cyprinidallo 2, formerly named Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) infection was suspected, based on initial diagnostic observations.

The accuracy of quantitative real time PCR (RTqPCR) can be attained only when a suitable reference gene is used. The gene expression for a particular gene may vary within different cells at different conditions. Hence, the suitability and stability of various potential reference genes have to be determined for expression studies. In this study, we have

Fish & Shellfish ImmunologyCyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2), a virus that triggers Herpesvirus Hematopoietic Necrosis Disease, presents a major challenge for goldfish and related species. Previous studies have reported that quercetin inhibits viral replication by suppressing phosphorylation of AKT, the core protein of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Gut microbiota are integral to the host, and have received increased attention in recent years. However, information regarding the intestinal microbiota of many aquaculture animals is insufficient; elucidating the dynamics of the intestinal microbiota can be beneficial for nutrition, immunity, and disease control.

Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) caused hematopoietic necrosis in crucian carp (Carassius auratus) has resulted in huge economic losses to the carp aquaculture. Interferon (IFN) response serves as a crucial line of defense for fish against CyHV-2 infection; however, CyHV-2 frequently overcomes this defense, resulting in damage and even substantial ...

In this study, we examined the influence of water temperature on the development of herpesviral haematopoietic necrosis (HVHN) in goldfish Carassius auratus after experimentally induced infection with cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2). In Expt 1, Ryukin goldfish were infected with CyHV-2 by intraperitoneal injection and maintained at 4 different water ...

Cyprinid herpesvirus II (CyHV-2) infection is identified in cultured gibel carp, Carassius auratus gibelio, with high mortality in China in recent years. Histological pathology includes acute hepatocellular necrosis, splenic necrosis, kidney necrosis, hyperplasia of the secondary lamellae with focal necrosis. Acute necrotic myocarditis and granulocytes

Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous small non-coding RNAs that are post-transcriptional regulators. They not only play vital roles in a variety of biological processes, but also regulate the process of viral infection. Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2), a pathogen of Gibel carp (Carassius gibelio), can induce herpesviral hematopoietic necrosis ...
