Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) CD81 promoting CyHV-3 virus replication via regulating autophagy and RLRs-interferon signaling pathway

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2023
Cyprinid herpesvirus type 3 (CyHV-3), also called Koi herpesvirus (KHV), which leads to mass cyprinid mortality and enormous economic losses. To establish an infection, CyHV-3 needs to counteract host antiviral responses. CD81 belongs to the evolutionary conserved tetraspanin family of proteins.

Antibody response and resistance of Cyprinus carpio immunized with cyprinid herpes virus 3 (CyHV-3)

Vaccine, 2008
CyHV-3 (Cyprinid herpesvirus-3) is a large DNA virus that causes a fatal disease in koi and common carp. Infection with wild type or attenuated virus induces an immune response that renders the fish resistant to further virus challenges. The kinetics and affinity of the antibody response in immune fish depend on the temperature of the water.

Rapid detection of Cyprinid herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3) using a gold nanoparticle-based hybridization assay

Journal of Virological Methods, 2015
Cyprinid herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3) is a highly infectious pathogen that causes fatal disease in common and koi carp Cyprinus carpio L. CyHV-3 detection is usually based on virus propagation or amplification of the viral DNA using the PCR or LAMP techniques. However, due to the limited susceptibility of cells used for propagation, it is not always possible

Cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3) transmission and outbreaks in Iran: Detection and characterization in farmed common carp

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2020
This study shows the presence of Cyprinid Herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3) in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) from Iranian carp farms with cumulative mortality up to 80% during 2015-2016. Pathological signs of disease such as gill necrosis, sunken eyes, and increased slime secretion on the skin and fins were observed in affected fish.

Replication Defective Cyprinid Herpes Virus-3 (CyHV-3) as a Combined Prophylactic Vaccine in Carps

2010
Aquacultured koi and common carp fish (Cyprinus carpio) are intensively bred as ornamental and food fish in many countries worldwide. Hatcheries of carp and koi have recently suffered massive financial damages due to two viral diseases caused by the Cyprinid herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3), previously designated as Carp Interstitial Nephritis and Gill Necrosis ...

Vnímavost kaprovitých a nekaprovitých druhů ryb k CyHV-3

2019
Cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3) also known as koi herpesvirus (KHV) is a causative agent of highly contagious disease (koi herpesvirus disease) and can cause significant losses in fish stocks. The disease is restricted to koi and common carp, but recent investigations have shown that other cyprinids as well as non-cyprinid species may be ...

2015
The carp herpes virus type III (CyHV-3), which causes the highly contagious infection of ornamental koi carp and common carp (Cyprinus carpio), is investigated. The goal of this research was to use the method of PCR for virus diagnostics and electron microscopy of purified virions and ultra thin sections of infected tissue for the investigation of CyHV-

A recombinant koi herpesvirus (KHV) or Cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3) and a vaccine for the prevention of a desease caused by KHV/CyHV-3 in Cyprinus carpio or Cyprinus carpio koi

2007
The present invention refers to a recombinant koi herpesvirus (KHV) or Cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3), which is immunogenic in fish, preferably in carps, more preferably in Cyprinus carpio, and to a vaccine for preventive and/or therapeutic treatment of a disease caused by koi herpesvirus (KHV) or CyHV-3.

The role of RNA interference in KF-1 cell lines against Cyprinid Herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3)

2014
Emerging fish diseases can cause significant economic losses for aquaculture producers. Cyprinid herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3), also known as Koi Herpesvirus (KHV), an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus, is the aetiological agent of the highly contagious koi herpesvirus disease (KHVD) of wild and cultured carp (Cyprinus carpio).
