Multi‐Gene Pharmacogenomic Testing in a Community‐Based Setting Is Feasible and Reduces Total Healthcare Costs

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 18, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing using multi‐gene panels (mgPGx) is documented to improve clinical outcomes; however, real‐world data on its economic impact remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate the utility and economic value of mgPGx testing among Medicare patients within a community‐based health system.

Association Between ABCB1 Polymorphism and Stable Warfarin Dose Requirements in Brazilian Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2018
The ideal dose of the oral anticoagulant warfarin varies widely among patients, mainly due to genetic factors. Genetic variations that impact warfarin pharmacokinetics and the vitamin K cycle are plausible candidates for being associated with warfarin ...

Old and New Oral Anticoagulants. Pharmacological Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012

Genome-Wide Association Analysis in Asthma Subjects Identifies SPATS2L as a Novel Bronchodilator Response Gene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Bronchodilator response (BDR) is an important asthma phenotype that measures reversibility of airway obstruction by comparing lung function (i.e. FEV1) before and after the administration of a short-acting β2-agonist, the most common rescue medications ...

Use of Drugs With Actionable Pharmacogenetic Biomarkers and Possible Prescribing Changes Among Older People

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, Volume 73, Issue 12, Page 3679-3689, December 2025.
This graphical abstract illustrates the annual prevalence of exposure to CPIC Level A drugs among older adults, categorized by type of pharmacogenetic recommendation. Data are presented per 1000 older individuals (A) and per 1000 prescriptions (B).

In Vitro Inhibitory Effects of Sesamin on CYP4F2 Activity.

open access: yesBiological & pharmaceutical bulletin, 2020
Sesamin is a major lignan in sesame seeds, and a recent meta-analysis of controlled trials indicated that sesamin intake decreases blood pressure. The antihypertensive effect of sesamin has been suggested to be due to sesamin-mediated suppression of 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid production catalyzed by CYP4F2.

Dietary and genetic influences on hemostasis in a Yup'ik Alaska Native population.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Fish and marine animals are important components of the subsistence diet of Alaska Native people, resulting in a high ω3 PUFA intake. The historical record for circumpolar populations highlights a tendency for facile bleeding, possibly related to ω3 PUFA

Rifampin modulation of xeno- and endobiotic conjugating enzyme mRNA expression and associated microRNAs in human hepatocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Rifampin is a pleiotropic inducer of multiple drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters. This work utilized a global approach to evaluate rifampin effects on conjugating enzyme gene expression with relevance to human xeno- and endo-biotic metabolism ...
