Isolation of a cyprinid herpesvirus 2 from goldfish, Carassius auratus (L.), in the UK

Journal of Fish Diseases, 2007
AbstractHaematopoietic necrosis virus [cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV‐2)] was isolated during disease outbreaks in goldfish, Carassius auratus, at an ornamental fish retail site in southern England in 2004. Signs of disease included lethargy and inappetence and were first seen after water temperatures increased from 14–15 to 19–21 °C.

Application of a monoclonal antibody specific for the ORF92 capsid protein of Cyprinid herpesvirus 2

Journal of Virological Methods, 2018
Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) infection is a recently discovered viral disease of farmed silver crucian carp (Carassius auratus gibelio) in mainland China that has resulted in massive fish mortality and appears to be spreading cross the world. Various detection methods based on nucleic acids have been developed, but effective immunological diagnostic

Hematological and Histological Changes in Prussian Carp Carassius gibelio Infected with Cyprinid Herpesvirus 2

Journal of Aquatic Animal Health, 2016
Abstract Outbreaks of cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) disease, also known as herpesviral hematopoietic necrosis, among cultured Prussian Carp Carassius gibelio has occurred each year in Jiangsu province, China, since 2009. In autumn 2014, hematological, blood biochemical, and histological changes in naturally infected moribund Prussian ...

Differential expression of miRNA in Carassius auratus gibelio in response to cyprinid herpesvirus 2 infection

Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 2018
miRNAs (microRNAs), a small endogenous non-coding RNAs, play crucial roles in post-transcriptional regulator of genes expression in various biological processes. Cyprinid Herpesvirus-2 (CyHV-2) is a highly pathogenic member of the alloherpesviridae that causes acute mass mortalities in populations of Carassius auratus gibelio and Carassius auratus ...

Susceptibility of Koi Carp, Common Carp, Goldfish, and Goldfish × Common Carp Hybrids to Cyprinid Herpesvirus-2 and Herpesvirus-3

Journal of Aquatic Animal Health, 2006
Abstract Hybrid goldfish (male goldfish Carassius auratus × female common carp Cyprinus carpio) were completely resistant to mortality following experimental infections with cyprinid herpesvirus-2 (CyHV-2) and moderately resistant to cyprinid herpesvirus-3 (CyHV-3).

Changes in the Intestinal Microbiota of Gibel Carp (Carassius gibelio) Associated with Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) Infection

Current Microbiology, 2017
Gut microbiota are integral to the host, and have received increased attention in recent years. However, information regarding the intestinal microbiota of many aquaculture animals is insufficient; elucidating the dynamics of the intestinal microbiota can be beneficial for nutrition, immunity, and disease control.
