Cystathionine Gamma-Lyase Expression Is Regulated by Exogenous Hydrogen Peroxide in the Mammalian Cells [PDF]
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), as an endogenous signaling molecule in mammals, shows a variety of biological effects. Cystathionine gamma-lyase (CSE)/H2S pathway has been implicated in scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the mammalian cells. Therefore, we first investigated the regulatory effects of exogenously applied hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) on CSE ...

Development of cystathionine gamma-lyase-specific microRNAs
Science Bulletin, 2015The gasotransmitter role of H2S in mammalian has been extensively studied, and cystathionine gamma-lyase (CSE) is the major H2S-producing enzyme in vascular system. Dysregulation of CSE/H2S system was found in various pathophysiological conditions.

Is cystathionine gamma-lyase protein expressed in the heart?
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2012Hydrogen sulfide (H(2)S) has emerged as an important gasotransmitter, offering protection against ischemia-reperfusion damage to the heart. Cystathionine gamma-lyase (CSE) is believed to be the major H(2)S-generating enzyme in the heart. Quite contrary to the general contemplation, CSE protein in cardiac tissues has not been convincingly detected and ...

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is an endogenous neuromodulator produced mainly by the enzyme cystathionine gamma-lyase (CSE) in peripheral tissues. A pronociceptive role of endogenously produced H2S has been previously reported by our group in a model of orofacial inflammatory pain.

Cystathionine γ-lyase from Streptomyces phaeochromoǵenes
1987Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the determination of cystathionine γ- Lyase from streptomyces phaeochromogenes. Cystathionine γ-lyase was first purified and crystallized from rat liver, but is also widely distributed among fungi. The microbial enzyme is purified and crystallized from Streptomyces phaeochromogenes (IFO 3105).

AbstractPurification of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cystathionine γ‐lyase (γ‐CTLase) was hampered by the presence of a protein migrating very close to it in various types of column chromatography. The enzyme and the contaminant were nevertheless separated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
