Immobilization of Procerain B, a Cysteine Endopeptidase, on Amberlite MB-150 Beads

open access: goldPLoS ONE, 2013
Proteases are involved in several crucial biological processes and reported to have important physiological functions. They also have multifarious applications in different industries. The immobilized form of the enzyme further improves its industrial applicability. Here, we report covalent immobilization of a novel cysteine endopeptidase (procerain B)

Heparin Modulates the Endopeptidase Activity of Leishmania mexicana Cysteine Protease Cathepsin L-Like rCPB2.8 [PDF]

open access: goldPLoS ONE, 2013
Cysteine protease B is considered crucial for the survival and infectivity of the Leishmania in its human host. Several microorganism pathogens bind to the heparin-like glycosaminoglycans chains of proteoglycans at host-cell surface to promote their attachment and internalization.

Funastrain c II: A Cysteine Endopeptidase Purified from the Latex of Funastrum clausum [PDF]

open access: greenThe Protein Journal, 2004
A cysteine endopeptidase, named funastrain c II, was isolated and characterized from the latex of Funastrum clausum (Asclepiadaceae). The molecular mass (mass spectrometry) of the protease was 23.636 kDa. The analysis of funastrain c II by SDS-PAGE revealed a single polypeptide chain.

Structure of the streptococcal endopeptidase IdeS, a cysteine proteinase with strict specificity for IgG [PDF]

open access: greenProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2004
Pathogenic bacteria have developed complex and diverse virulence mechanisms that weaken or disable the host immune defense system. IdeS (IgG-degrading e nzyme of Streptococcus pyogenes ) is a secreted cysteine endopeptidase from the human pathogen S.

Ex vivo processing for maturation of Arabidopsis KDEL-tailed cysteine endopeptidase 2 (AtCEP2) pro-enzyme and its storage in endoplasmic reticulum derived organelles [PDF]

open access: hybridPlant Molecular Biology, 2013
Ricinosomes are specialized ER-derived organelles that store the inactive pro-forms of KDEL-tailed cysteine endopeptidases (KDEL-CysEP) associated with programmed cell death (PCD).

The Structure and Organization of Two Cysteine Endopeptidase Genes from Rice [PDF]

open access: closedPlant and Cell Physiology, 1999
REP-1 is a major cysteine endopeptidase that digests seed storage glutelin of rice. A cDNA clone (pRP60) for REP-1 and a cDNA clone (pRP80) for a related enzyme were previously isolated. The expression of both mRNAs is regulated by gibberellin. In this study, we revealed the structure and organization of Rep1 and RepA, genes corresponding to pRP60 and ...
