Cystometry, Urethrocystometry, and Videocystourethrography
Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1990A number of techniques are available to detect detrusor overactivity. The test best suited to an individual investigator is a function of expertise, frequency of use, cost, availability, and ability to interpret the testing method. Even the simplest methods may be used effectively when the examiner understands the test and its limitations.

SUMMARY Direct measurement of the pressures which develop within the bladder during voiding offers a new approach to the diagnosis of “occult” lower urinary tract obstruction. Insight into the pathological physiology of some hitherto confusing syndromes such as hydro‐ureter is offered by this technique.

CYSTOMETRY: AN APPARATUS AND A METHOD
British Journal of Urology, 1954SUMMARY A simple apparatus which allows cystometry to be performed easily in any hospital ward with minimal delay in the provision of sterile apparatus is described. The use of a finger‐cot to separate blood from an aneroid sphygmomanometer is depicted in an article on intra‐arterial transfusion by Robertson ...

Cystometry and Sphincter Electromyography
Mayo Clinic Proceedings, 1976Gas cystometry combined with electronically integrated sphincter electromyography provides a rapid and effective screening technique for evaluation of patients with disorders of micturition secondary to neurologic dysfunction. The most frequent cystometric patterns are (1) detrusor hyperreflexia secondary to interruption of the cortico-regulatory ...

Cystometry in Paediatric Enuresis
Scandinavian Journal of Urology and Nephrology, 1971In 63 cases of paediatric enuresis of both functional and organic type cystometry was carried out using a modern pressure recording technique. The patients have been divided into 3 groups from their history and clinical findings. The findings from the cystometrogram have been divided into 5 main groups.

Reproducibility of Cystometry in Overactive Detrusor
European Urology, 2000To examine the reproducibility of cystometry in the overactive detrusor. The study sample involved 30 patients of the placebo arm in double-blind clinical trials for an overactive detrusor. They had demonstrated detrusor overactivity and underwent the second cystometry after 2-4 weeks.

Cystometry V. Bladder sensation
Urology, 1975Bladder sensation is an important variable in cystometry. Sensory complaints are a valuable portion of the history which may be further defined and documented by the cystometric examination.

A better study and more correct diagnosis of neurogenous bladder is to be achieved with cystomanometric studies. The authors analyse the use of air as a medium, explain the method and stress the simplicity, quickness and absence of complications with air. Finally, they mention the recent use of carbon dioxide, particularly in urethral profilometries.
