NQO1‐Responsive Prodrug for in Cellulo Release of Cytochalasin B as Cancer Cell‐Targeted Migrastatic

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The design, synthesis, biochemical, and cell biological evaluation of the NQO1‐targeted prodrug BQTML‐CB is reported. BQTML‐CB selectively releases cytochalasin B upon activation by the quinone‐oxidoreductase NQO1 associated with invasiveness of cancer cells, representing a novel approach to improve cancer selectivity and reduce immunosuppressive ...

Microgravity induces inhibition of osteoblastic differentiation and mineralization through abrogating primary cilia

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
It is well documented that microgravity in space environment leads to bone loss in astronauts. These physiological changes have also been validated by human and animal studies and modeled in cell-based analogs.

Rejuvenation of Senescent Cells, In Vitro and In Vivo, by Low‐Frequency Ultrasound

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Optimized low‐frequency ultrasound rejuvenates induced senescent cells and aged mice. Our results show that LFU reverses 15 aspects of senescent cells including growth and revitalizes aged mice. ABSTRACT The presence of senescent cells causes age‐related pathologies since their removal by genetic or pharmacological means, as well as possibly by ...

Strain-dependent porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) entry and replication in T-lymphoblasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is the etiological agent of PCV2-associated diseases (PCVAD). PCV2 targets lymphoblasts, and pigs suffering from PCVAD display lymphocyte depletion in lymphoid tissues. PCV2 infection of lymphoblasts has not been studied.

Compressive Forces Induce Epigenetic Activation of Aged Human Dermal Fibroblasts Through ERK Signaling Pathway

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Direct activation and rejuvenation of aged fibroblasts through the application of mechanical forces in a 3D spheroid culture model. The ERK signaling pathway was revealed as a key underlying mechanism. ABSTRACT Age‐related changes in human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) contribute to impaired wound healing and skin aging.

Observations on the Effects of Cytochalasin B and Cytochalasin D on ADP- and Chymotrypsin-Treated Platelets

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1984
Cytochalasin B has been reported to inhibit fibrinogen binding and aggregation of rabbit platelets in response to ADP. The present study was designed to ascertain whether cytochalasins B and D inhibit aggregation by interfering with the exposure of fibrinogen receptors or more directly by inhibiting binding to available receptors.

Production and Functional Verification of 8‐Gene (GGTA1, CMAH, β4GalNT2, hCD46, hCD55, hCD59, hTBM, hCD39)‐Edited Donor Pigs for Xenotransplantation

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of generation of 8‐gene‐edited cloned pigs and their verification by pig to non‐human primate kidney xenotransplantation. ABSTRACT Gene‐edited (GE) pig‐to‐human xenotransplantation continues to make breakthroughs, but which kind of gene combination is suitable for organ‐specific transplantation remains unclear.

Study on Chemicals for Post-activation in Porcine Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer

open access: yesJournal of Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology, 2016
Since the first success of animal cloning, somatic cell nuclear transfer presented various ideas in many research areas such as regenerative medicine. However, SCNT embryos has poor survival rate. Therefore, numerous researches carried out to enhance the
