Image_1_Validation of CyTOF Against Flow Cytometry for Immunological Studies and Monitoring of Human Cancer Clinical Trials.JPEG

open access: yes, 2019
Flow cytometry is a widely applied approach for exploratory immune profiling and biomarker discovery in cancer and other diseases. However, flow cytometry is limited by the number of parameters that can be simultaneously analyzed, severely restricting ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 10, Page 2424-2448, October 2026.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

CD57-positive CD8 + T cells define the response to anti-programmed cell death protein-1 immunotherapy in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesnpj Precision Oncology
Immune checkpoint inhibitors have transformed the treatment landscape of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, accurately identifying patients who will benefit from immunotherapy remains a challenge.

Commonly Occurring Cell Subsets in High-Grade Serous Ovarian Tumors Identified by Single-Cell Mass Cytometry

open access: yesCell Reports, 2018
Summary: We have performed an in-depth single-cell phenotypic characterization of high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) by multiparametric mass cytometry (CyTOF).

Cellular census of human fibrosis defines functionally distinct stromal cell types and states

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
New anti-fibrotics aided by a better understanding of fibrotic cell subsets and their functions are needed. Here the authors perform single-cell RNA-seq and CyTOF on nodules from patients with Dupuytren’s disease to map subsets and the state of ...

immunoHuMiX: A personalizable gut‐on‐chip model for unraveling human microbiome–immune interactions

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 5, October 2026.
The study introduces a personalized gut model that brings together human immune cells and intestinal cells to better mimic how the body interacts with microbes. This system successfully maintained both human cells and a 17‐strain probiotic community, showing consistent immune responses across different donors.

Using mass cytometry to probe the STAT signaling landscape in circulating immune cells in Rheumatoid Arthritis uncovers signaling dysregulation and correlation with disease activity

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
IntroductionThe phosphorylation state of signaling proteins is a useful measure of cell function. The high dimensionality of mass cytometry (CyTOF) allows assessment of a large number of parameters using limited amount of material.
